Michel Telo - Ai Se Eu Te Pego!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcm55lU9knw

It's been number one basically everywhere in Europe. Hope the fact it's in Portuguese doesn't stop it succeeding here but no doubt it will

It wont be a hit here because it is European rubbish, like a very bad Eurovision entry.
But then it has long been acknowledged that most on the continent have a strange taste in music.
That is TRULY awful and would be lucky to sell ANY here

I can see it doing well here.

I was recently in Amsterdam and this song was absolutely EVERYWHERE. I'd never heard it before.

I don't particularly like it but I can see it being a hit here.

its not awful at all. just because you dont understand it and europeans do - they study more than english at school. they have very good taste in music, more than people here. they buy songs in various languages, unlike here.

I live in Spain and the song is huge here, it's on 24/7 in the clubs. I, however really do dislike the song! Loved Papa Americano and La Gente Esta Muy Loca.. but not feeling this one guys sorry! X

Of course it is subjective. It is awful to MY ears but not to yours. However I can tell you that MOST people in THIS country will think it sounds like Euro crap.

Well I'd start with the terrible accordian riff, the language, the tune.........In MY opinion it is truly CRAP

Wouldn't say it's awful, just very very bland.

It would probably have been a hit if we had been in the middle of Summer and everyone had heard it on their hols.

To be honest I didn't get past the first thirty seconds.

This remix version will probably do well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBiLPl48Omg
I remember Alors On Danse and Mr Saxobeat crossing over into the UK charts, due to the clubs playing them.

Is this the song about rape, or am I thinking about another one?

I don't think it will. I think Inna and Alexandra Stan's were flukes in my opinion BUT I really like the songs.

And Allor en Dance was brilliant too IMO
There have been loads of songs of this kind that I hear in Italy, Spain (I heard a lot of great songs in Magaluf) which never made it here.

I thought Dan Balan's Chica Bomb would be a big hit, but it sort of failed. Well actually it got #44, so not much of a flop for a song with no promotion.

I am surprised Edward Maya's Desert Rain didn't become huge here in summer 2011 after Stereo Love was huge in 2009.

here is the English version.....

IF I CATCH YOU - OFFICIAL - MICHEL TELÓ (AI SE EU TE PEGO)

Wonder if it will chart/get some promo here? He's doing a gig in London at the end of the month.

I'm so used to the original, kinda weird to hear an English version!

I love this song and it would be great if it was to become a hit here.

Unfortuantely, most British people are quite ignorant when it comes to hit music (particularly when it is 'foreign') as they only ever seem to be interested in the same bland, pretentious American style pop.

It's Brazilian actually.

I really hate this bizarre superiority complex some British people have with regards to the rest of Europe but it doesn't surprise me as it's usually based on ignorance. In anycase it's not as if we're any different (eg. "Swagger Jagger" at #1 )

I bet you don't even listen to European music.

has either version charted here yet? I wonder if the record company might be thinking of a summer release for the english version? Or is it just one of those that is a hit everywhere else but here!?

Loads of clips of his London gig a few weeks ago on Youtube, heres one of them!
