android bbm app

is there any app you can download so you can add people with bbm on your phone.

No. The closest you can get to multi platform messenging are things like whatspp or kik. BBM is a service provided through the BB servers and not available on other platforms.

RIM put those rumours to rest several months ago. BBM is the biggest USP for RIM at the moment. Why would they license it to another platform?

It also works using a unique hardware PIN to identify each device on the BIS servers, that is exclusive to BlackBerry handsets.

For BBM to work on Android, they would have to re engineer the whole principle of the messaging system. BBM currently relies on PIN messages which as I already stated will not work with 3rd party hardware.

To cut it short - BBM will not be coming to Android.

Actually that's not true either. RIMs new CEO recently hinted at it coming out to other platforms on the future.

To be honest, why you would want it when there is much better apps is beyond me.

Of course he's hinting at it. Why else would you talk about BlackBerry when you've got an Android phone already! Still not convinced it'll happen though.
