RIM put those rumours to rest several months ago. BBM is the biggest USP for RIM at the moment. Why would they license it to another platform?
It also works using a unique hardware PIN to identify each device on the BIS servers, that is exclusive to BlackBerry handsets.
For BBM to work on Android, they would have to re engineer the whole principle of the messaging system. BBM currently relies on PIN messages which as I already stated will not work with 3rd party hardware.
To cut it short - BBM will not be coming to Android.
