I have the 300gb model which is playing up with many different problems,, Error on Hard Drive message.
I want to replace it but have no idea which one I need to buy, any help would be appreciated. I cant really afford to buy a new PVR. I am living on a hard earned miserable pension (not benefits) and this is the only luxury that I enjoy,

thank you

If it's your only luxury then the best you could buy IMO is a new Humax. The newer ones are less problematic than the old. I know you say you are on a pension but if you could stretch to This HDR-Fox T2 I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Even cheaper Here.

Thank you for the reply, I only wish I could buy the one you suggest but thats impossible at the moment.I was thinking that if I had to buy a new one that I could probably manage the 9300T as I really dont use use it for anything other than recording.I think it had a good write up in Which mag and I would appreciate your thoughts on that, although software upgrades seem to be causing more problems than enough...regards

That looks very promising,,2 years warranty would have been nice.. I notice on the reviews on the Managers Special web site that one chap said he was looking forward to getting it on the web,, does that mean that I could get IPLAYER through the Humax,,not sure I understand the web bit.. thank you

Yes, If you connect it to the web it has iPlayer on it. I have mine connected by wire to the router but it is possible to get a dongle and do it via wireless.
It's not really complicated, if you can hard wire it to the router (same connection as your computer) you won't even notice anything other than the 'Portal', as they call it, working.
That said, it is not necessary for you to connect it to the internet for day to day use as a recorder.

That sounds wonderful,, My broadband cable and modem is behind my tv so I daresay I could use a splitter of somekind to connect to the Humax. When this is connected is it possible to get all of the Iplayers available as I can on my old laptop.
regards
