Unless she can morph herself into Matthew Wolfenden, No she won't win.

No she won't win - but hopefully she'll be there for some time yet.

I personally don't think so

I feel Chemmy thinks shes better than she actually is.

I do think we'll have a female winner this year as they tend to alternate, but I think that winner will be Jorgie.

Chemmy knows that compared to those with dance experience, i.e. Jennifer and Jorgie, and performance experience i.e. Heidi she can't compete; but she also knows she's as good a skater as anyone in the competition, including the males and in that she is absolutely correct.

If she can acquire a little finesse to go with her skating skills she could be around for quite some time.

I think she could win. If she doesn't she's still a winner in my book and welcome to use my face as a chair any time.

In my opinion, she can't win because she can't even reach the final.

And she can't reach the final because so many of the male skaters are so good that there will be room for at most one women in the final 3.

Indeed, pretty soon the "cushion" of weaker skaters will be gone and some of the better women will start going instead.

Who are the better women? Apart from Jorgie and Chemmy, none of the other female competitors can even skate unless their partner holds their hand, or pushes them away.

Sadly with her appearance in the skate off this week i don't think she has enough support to win even if she were to improve to the extent that she'd deserve a shot at it. I hope she lasts a few more weeks at least though & gets to the quarter finals. I think she'll get through next week as the skills test should really suit her plus I think she'll get a bit of a bounce vote wise.

Sure, I go with your post. As mentioned in my previous post I don't think she'd be a DOI favourite either. I myself don't mind her eagerness to do well and the clear energy and verbalisation that displays this but some viewers don't like watching someone as openly competative as she is. And, while I would say all of them prob want to win and do well, I think she could be percieved maybe by some viewers as to (look to) want it more because she's not doing the shy, modest or humble displays as much as some of the other celebs do (... whether they geuninely are or not).

Perhaps I should have said weaker contestants rather than weaker skaters, to avoid a focus specifically on solo skating (the only skating that many are willing to count).

Anyway, I regard rosemary as the last of the "safety cushion".

I felt Chemmy would be safe this week because, even if she ended in the bottom two (as she did) at least Robin and Katarina would save her against any of the others who were likely to be bottom two.

I guess you may be right. Personally I don't see she's come across as particularly competitive though I agree she's qute bubbly & clearly wants to do her best which some people may misinterpret. I do find the trait of some Brits to knock anyone who is competitive annoying though, particularly with regards to women.

It doesn't really matter what score Louie gives this week, if he marks consistently. Robin and Katerina will mark the skating element and we can guess who the bottom 3 will be. If the public vote as usual, it will mean the bottom 3 will have to get lots of votes for at least one of them not to be in the skate off. There are going to be 3 in the skate off and 2 going home.

I hope it doesn't mean that the weakest skaters have the best fan base, or the skating elements won't make any difference to them.

This is what it states on Dancing on Ice site:

Quote:
“After judges' scores and viewer votes are combined, the three celebrities at the bottom of the leaderboard will for the first time in Dancing on Ice history take part in a skate-off without their professional partners.

Only one of the trio will be saved by the panel of Louie Spence, Katarina Witt and Robin Cousins - leaving just seven still in the running.”

But it could still make a difference. Louie's undermarking of Chemmy led to her being 2 places lower on the board than she should have been this week IMO. That may have been the difference in her being safe & ending up in the skate off.

Three in the skateoff.

Three judges.

What if the judges all pick a different name to save

Unless they then fall back to the public vote - the one from the three with the highest votes goes through
