How Important do you think the music is to how well a person does voting wise ?

It depends on how well they interpret it - if they have a fast song but dance slowly it makes them look bad.

It is absolutely crucial. It is amazing how a piece of music that particularly suits someone can really boost their performance.

very - if it's a popular peice of music the viewers have a tendency to rate the performer higher (if only slightly) than an equal performer with a boring or unknown piece. A good song generates a good mood. Hence it's all about song choice on the x factor. If the song is a good one, the audience will forgive an off key note. Likewise if a performance is full of energy (even a slow number can have energy) but imperfect, it often generates a better response from the audience than a dull put technically correct performance.

It helps but if you don't have the performance to match it's not gonna do you much good. Charlene had great music tonight but routine wasn't that great so it didn't help with judges or public vote.
