Yeah OK she skates gracefully but she's seriously being scored too high, the fact that she scored higher than Matthew, Heidi & Jen with Katerina despite doing more in their performances than she did is ridiculous, Heidi also did the upside down move a lot better yet got a lower overall score

Johnson had never been on the ice before DOI, Rosemary has had goodness knows how many lessons and still needs her partner to pull her around.

Johnson made me cry with his courage and I used to sit here willing him to get through the routine. Sorry OP there is absolutely no comparison between the two. One is a war hero whose courage and determination was there for everyone to see. Whilst the other is a nice lady but, seems to think that being pushed and pulled round the ice is enough to win the competition.

Johnson was boring, that might sound harsh and yes after everything it did take a lot of courage particularly not even ever skating on the ice but the truth of the matter is he had no business in the top 4 as there were superior skaters put out before him.

They are similar in respect that they aren't particularly good skaters, and are in fact quite boring to watch, but they have been deemed "brave" for doing it because Johnson was an injured soldier, and Rosemary is an older lady. So far Rosemary hasn't outstayed her welcome, as she wasn't the worst this week, but her time is up soon.

She's not like Coleen, because Coleen didn't get through on the "aww, well done" factor. She got through on being a bit gobby and being a bit of a laugh and a game bird.

But Charlene is an older lady but she got penalized a lot.

Just because Johnson didn't wear a whirly bow tie, turn cartwheels and sing hits from South Pacific doesn't mean he is boring.

He was a gentleman who proved he could do something with nothing less than willpower. He needed to have his hands held when he got on the ice orginally and wear a crash helmet

Come on guys....give Rosemary a break. She's showing improvement. This week was much faster. And her nervous skating style has now gone. She is skating with improvement, more speed and confidence and doing nice tricky lifts. Yes the competition is great this year and her days are numbered but I love her. She's the best older skater they've ever had. She's done far more than Colleen Nolan, Laila Morse, Denise Welsh, etc ever did. Plus she absolutely adores the show.
And I didnt even mention she's freaking 65!!! Okay I did now

His skating was boring. So is Rosemary's. He came across as a gent, and was well liked. People keep on commenting on how she's a real lady. The judges comment on how they admire what they have achieved. They aren't exactly the same, but there are parallels.

Charlene has been praised, but for the sake of perspective, she's 49 and Rosemary is 65. It's massively different. Charlene is more like Coleen Nolan - but without the Loose Women vote.

To me whilst Johnson wasn't a brilliant skater he did improve a lot throughout the series. Rosemary has cut out the errors & stumbles the last couple of weeks but technically she's not really progressing or doing anything much more difficult. I don't think she'll get anywhere near the last 4 either.

This is rather a insult to Johnson because he was disabled and worked very hard and improved no end whereas Rosemary is totally useless and I cannot believe that Katerina gave her a better score than Matthew, which was diabolical and then also higher than Heidi and Jen as well was also out of order!

I really am sick of both Katerina and Cousins favouring the girl that is the olympic skier, her partner is Sean. They really over scored her too! Some of the scoring was bizare tonight!

Won't argue with any of the points you make - but was she really better than some of the contestants Katarina judged inferior on the night? e.g. Matt and Jen to mention but two; very confused.

Think louie is the one who undermarked Chemmy tonight.

I actually think that Louies mark was about right and the other two overmarked her. She skates fast but has no finesse and I agreed totally with Louie that she is too rushed in her movements and does not finish them off properly. She concentrates too much on skating fast and not on everything else in my opinion. She is one of my least favourites but liked her in the beginning! But obviously Rosemary is much worst than Chemmy!

That's the probem though - Louie just marking on her lines etc. and doesn't take into account the skating. And she isn't just fast, she also has quite technical footwork too.

I too think Rosemary is like Coleen - in that they are getting through on the 'popularity' vote. Even Todd topped the viewers vote one week

No no no don't mention the awful Coleen and certainly not in the same breath as Rosemary. Coleen COULD NOT SKATE.
Rosemary actually can and quite nicely too, she just has no speed but the quality of her basic skating is good - she uses the edges properly and can do turns.

Rosemary just isn't very exciting to watch as she doesn't have any speed and lacks confidence. I'm sure her popularity helps though and that of her coach who is very well known and liked in the skating world.

Charlene's 53, so there is 12 years difference, but still classes as an "older" lady

You should perhaps tell her. She's been going around saying she turns 50 later this year! Either way, Charlene is of a similar age to the likes of Coleen etc, and whilst "older" than the women apart from Rosemary, she isn't actually an OAP. She is also younger than Laila was. There have been loads of men and women the same age as Charlene on the show before. No-on as old as Rosemary has taken part.

Rosemary isn't like Coleen because Coleen etc didn't put that much effort into improving her skating, and instead relied on making jokes to see her through. Rosemary's personality is more reserved, like Johnson's.

Clearly, they aren't identical to each other, but both of them are competent, but dull skaters. They have pretty good technique, but struggled to gain speed and have the admiration of the panel and people at home.

No-one is claiming being older is the same as being an injured war hero, but there are similarities in how people are reacting to them.

I agree And as someone else posted she is yet to outstay her welcome because all the others who have left prior to her have been worse skaters and I think theres still 1 or 2 who are worse than her yet so I dont mind her staying for a bit. She isnt as good as a lot of them so yes she wont be in it forever.

I never minded Johnson but agree he was boring and dont think he should have been in the top 4 just because of his past. Nobody is doubting his amazingness and courage but the point of the show is to dance on ice and for that Johnson wasnt the greatest competitor.

If Rosemary can up her game anymore than she already did this week then she stands a chance of lasting a couple more weeks
