Yes, I agree OP and whilst I know such positions show great athleticism and flexibility, I really don't think they add anything to the performance. On the contrary I think they look highly unfeminine and inelegant.

I also bet that anyone watching the show with teenagers around finds it highly uncomfortable viewing!
