Well, looking at a few posts, I might be in the wrong place but wanted to see if there are any blues fans on the forum!

I present a blues show on community radio - www.thebluestrain.wordpress.com - and am always trying to find new listeners. I play mainly new and unsigned artists from around the world; my show goes out live on FromeFM and also on two US stations.

Blues music is great at the minute and I'm trying to prove its not at all dull and depressing! Some of the brightest UK artists in music are found in the blues scene right now. So if anyone is at all curious, please say hello!

Big blues fan. I'm fascinated by it both musically and culturally.

The blues scale is used in many contemporary songs and as well as trad. blues, I love songs which blend genres - blues, gospel soul, old r&b, rock-and roll, boogie-woogie, jazz.

Not a fan of homogonised jazz or modern R&B, for me it might be nice if the definition of one of those genres changed to a much wider sense that covers blending those genres I mentioned. Songs / singers that improvise using the blues scale within standard major / minor key frameworks are great for me.

I think one of the best things about blues these days, is that it encompasses other styles too, such as jazz and rock n roll etc. As blues basically was the start of the rest of all music, it can be enjoyed by so many people.

As I said, there are so many exciting bands right now, its one of THE best genres going but many people probably wont even give it a chance as they think it is all depressing!

Do you have any favourite artists?

I like some of it. I like Slim Harpo, JB Lenoir, Howlin' Wolf, Bessie Smirh for instance. I agree about the culture being fascinating.

Well I hope you can find time to check my blog out, which has links to my show. I don't play much of the old classics but instead I do play the new classics!

Can't beat some live blues.

Will definately try and check out the show. Have been exploring the Blues a bit more in the last year or so and would say i'm more interested in Blues Rock but also checking more traditional stuff too.

Some great young british blues guitarists coming through just now and would be great to see them get some recognition.

Joanne Shaw Taylor, Aynsley Lister, Oli Brown, Virgil & The Accelerators, Marcus Bonfanti, Philip Sayce all worth checking.
