MP3/media player that supports mkv files? Or has lots of memory?

Is there such a thing a media/mp3 player that supports mkv files?

Also, I'm looking for an mp3 player, does anyone have any recommendations? I have posted on here before and was recommended the Creative Zen 100 and the Sandisk Sansa - I like the look/specs of both of them but they don't seem to have enough memory; I need a minimum of 12GB (preferably more, but 12 absolute minimum).

I would prefer not to have something that requires its own software, and I would like to be able to charge it via USB.

Many thanks

Sandisk Clip+ comes with either 2 or 4GB I think and takes microSD cards so you can add another 32GB. It charges from USB and it integrates with windows media player so no extra software needed.

As for a media player with MKV support, your best bet is an android tablet.

I have the Sansa Clip Zip an recent update to the Clip+. It has a better clip and supports Album art. At £39.99 on Amazon for the 8GB version. I also purchased a 16GB Micro SD at the same time So for Under £50 I have an extremely portable 24GB player.

64GB Micro SDHC memory cards have now hit £45 so the above Zip and Clip+ have now become an ideal.

The Clip+ is certainly growing on me.
