Chocolate Cupcake recipe
I'm looking for a chocolate cupcake recipe that uses coca cola. I like a very strong chocolate flavour and was told that cola will achieve this result, anyone have a good recipe? I also like a moist texture. Oh, and a good strong chocolate frosting is a must to finish it off.

Not heard of using cola before. I use 85% of over cocoa chocolate to make mine. I also put some chopped chilli on sometimes for an extra kick
As for the cupcakes name I see it as fairly cakes are in the smaller bun cases, cup cakes are in cupcake/ muffin cases. Frosting is made from icing mixed with either butter or cream cheese. Thats my way of looking at it anyway.

Thanks very much for those recipes, I should have put it in the search engine myself but did think if it's a known successful method of producing a good chocolate cupcake, someone on here may have a good tried and tested recipe. The second recipe uses cups and I never really know how much a cup is.

Ha ha! I bow to your superior cake knowledge and apologise to the OP for losing the plot. I don't like cake and don't understand people who do. And I'm having a rough week at work!
Enjoy your CUPCAKES! ![]() ![]() I could give up sweets, crisps and chocolates for cakes. |

Icing and frosting are two different things. So basically you're yelling that they want something completely different from what you want. Icing is thin and glossy. Frosting is thick and contains dairy. |

Frosting is thick and contains dairy. Where I'm from fairy cake or bun just means small cake. I make them with the same ingredients and method as any cupcake recipe I've seen only difference being an American bun case is bigger than a british one. Can't say I've ever seen a fairy cake recipe using a genoise sponge. As for icing that can either be thin and glossy e.g. glace icing or thick and contain dairy e.g. butter icing. |

i love making cupcakes, its my new fave hobby. although i havent made chocolate ones, but i would think you just make the normal recipe then add cocoa powder, like green and blacks, maybe a tablespoon and then judge it. for the frosting i would use betty crocker chocolate frosting, its amazing. i made cupcakes on Monday night and used betty crocker vanilla frosting and it was so good and everyone was saying how amazing it was. i know its cheating but who cares

![]() I agree with you on the Betty Crocker frostings, I use it when I am struggling to stay on my feet and you can mix flavourings & colours to the vanilla one if you want something different. |

I'm so glad i started this thread as i love the different ideas and suggestions that have been made. I'll definitely be trying the Betty Crocker frostings and pass the recommendation on to my daughter, who's also a new cupcake maker. Thanks.
