Hello lovely helpful foodie people!

I have just prepped the ingredients for a Moroccan Tagine Chilcken recipe, and it's too big to go in my little slow cooker!
So I guess I am going to have to cook it in a slow oven instead.

Recipe says:
Cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours

What is the equivalent for electic fan oven ?

Thanks

Anything I slow cook I do on gas mark 3 for about 4 hours. Dunno if that helps. Sorry I don't know the electric equivalent.

160c but watch it and stir it - maybe it'll require a final 180c blast for the last half an hour. This is for the middle of the oven btw.

I would say 140-150 in a fan oven. Maybe even a tad lower. Different ovens vary quite a bit in temperature and if it's too hot it will cook too quickly and the meat could be tough.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

There seems to be quite a variety of temps, but then all slow cookers are not the same.
My sister's one seems to simmer briskly even on low, while mine doesn't.
I'll average out your suggested temps and keep an eye on it,

Contrary to what Utopian girl said, I try not to stir a slow cooked dish because I found if I do that meat and veg tend to disintegrate and you'll end up with soup.

As IW said, 140 to 150 or lower.

An update:
I put it in oven pre-set on timer @ 150 degrees, (fan oven)
It was perfectly cooked after 2 hours, starting from a cold oven.

I took it out at that point and divided it in two to put some in freezer.
Then just gently brought the remainder up to a simmer when it was time to eat.

Thanks for all the advice.
