I don't think that's the reason.
The song can't peak too early since it is not available to buy yet. At this stage it should be getting played - I don't think the label control what happens in that respect after they send it out to the stations.
I just think Capital don't like it which is a shame since they were arguably responsible for Alex's commercial success post 'Broken Heels'.
Radio 1 has given Elephant it's weekly Friday spin today 
Her brother seems to know as much as we do...he's been off the mark far more than he's been right. Anyway, airplay hold backs are completely unheard of. And it's not just Capital that isn't playing this.
I was very shocked that in 4 weeks...the song reached an audience of only 1.6M and only 420K heard it last week on their radio...
Compare that to Rebecca Ferguson's latest single...which reached an audience of 4.4M just last week...but she has the likes of R2 spinning her stuff so that's not much of a surprise.
I think we should accept that radio programmers just hate this song...and perhaps this whole new sound (if her future singles are anything like Elephant)

I was reading comments on MV on YT earlier. It seems some people love Elephant and some are disappointed. Some want Alexandra to sing ballads and show off her vocals, some just want stuff similar to her singles from Overcome.
I personally love Elephant. It's catchy, I loved it on first listen.
It's a problem for singing reality shows alumni because many fans think their favorites should continue showing off their vocals to everyone on each and every song they release and with every performance. IMO, somewhere we have to draw the line. X Factor season 5 was in 2008, Alexandra won, there is nothing to prove, we know she is a great singer. She wants to be a current pop artist, not Whitney/Mariah impersonator from the 90s.
I'm also glad that she moved on from the sound from her first album. Don't get me wrong, I liked her first album and singles were great, but I'm happy she decided to work with different people. RedOne is great, but Alex needed a new sound.

When it was on, some hadnt heard it, but everyone was going off. Seriously (good thing is you can buy both versions together
) though. Good sign (I hope they buy it though).
Quite a few people knew all the lyrics too, and they were wasted which is good, because if you can sing a whole new song wasted, then its likely you'll sing it all sober.
I reckon it'll be a hit. I hope it has big sales (100k). *hoping*

I think they'll list Alex. Seriously they cant be playing that crap. The beginning and verses (beat wise) are ok but the rest is crap. R1 do help keep singles in the top 10 though, that Allysa is in there with an ok (at best) song and they are hammering her.
I do think Elephant is going to be a slow burner but it is on 75k now... so it's not going to bad, it's just because she has been away for so long and people assume she isn't back still....

RIP Whitney - Alex is devastated by this news, Whitney played a massive part in her life (inspiration wise).
and Elephant is over 100k now... so it isn't doing to bad, as I said I think it'll be a slow burner because people don't know she's back!

I know, the audition, and vocal resemblance. So sad. I think it'll be a hit, I know SWY hit the top and for me it came out of nowhere, I hadnt even heard it before then. Most have no idea, but some fans do, which is a good thing.
RIP Whitney....I'm devastated by the news.....we have her to thank for part of who Alex is as an artist today....
Her first audition song both times was a Whitney song and her first ever live show performance was a Whitney song....Hopefully if there is a tribute of some kind like there was for MJ, Alex will get asked to perform....we all know she can more than pull off Whitney's classics...

I think as TV and Radio airplay increases the video views will shoot up.....it's only been 6 days so 100k is not really that bad....hopefully it gets to 500-600k by mid-March...
I'm not surprised Elephant is so high on the TV airplay charts, whenever I watch the music channels, at most, I only have to wait 15 minutes until I see it.
It still has an exclusive slot on Smash Hits every hour and it's been out for over a week now!

Good, if Tv can make a difference, thats a good thing, I bet it'll be the number one vid shown, and as it should. Hopefully airplay will start to climb slowly, I hope R2 add it to their lists next week as do R1. I want her to sell a million with this album and 600K with elephant. If olly murs
can with not much talent (no shade, but its truth), then Alex can be a multi million seller. And she must go global, we must keep tweeting her and RCA and David about this.
This is great news....hopefully once she starts showing her face on the TV things will pick up even more...

Plus SmashHits has a slot for the video every hour and I saw it at least 4 times flicking through the music channels for 30 mins....it seems things are starting to pick up...
I wonder when the first major performance of Elephant is planned....and where...
