Just thinking about this makes me all happy...

I wonder what other promo she has lined up for this era.

I just realised Let's Dance for Sport Relief will commence in a few weeks time so hopefully she gets a slot.

I know! I get really excited about it too....maybe a bit too much but wth....It will be great to see her face on TV/adverts/performances etc....

Though I hope her performance outfits and choreography are more together...some of the Overcome era performances were a mess...

I'll probably get a lot of flack for this but I think it's too late for Alexandra to be an international act and be one of the 'big girls'. I'm afraid Jessie J has taken her place and it's a shame because they was a gap for her. Jessie J came out last year and she pushed and pushed to crack the U.S. She is having stateside connections and even performing in Clive Davis's Party. Her single Domino is number 6 and I won't be surprised if it reaches no.1. What is Alexandra doing? Releasing an out-of-date song you'll hear in 1999 and a cheap and tacky video - simply following trends. Even Cher's Believe sounds more modern to Elephant. I'm not a hater of Alex by any means, I voted for her like Crazy during the XF and I think is soo talented with a LOT of potential and what is she releasing? auto-tuned mess while other UK acts are leaving her behind. Such a shame. She should be very careful because someone else can just come out of nowhere and take her place in the UK. Basically, it's like a typical black girl doing dance music with the cliche facial expressions, 'edgy' attitude and song topics. Such a shame

I agree but then I don't agree.....it's an amazing thing for her to even consider but then of course looking after a child is a massive commitment and her career would no doubt have had to have taken a back seat for a while, and at her stage in her career, it wouldn't have been good at all..

But she continues to amaze me with her kindness and personality, I hate it when people call her stuck up/arrogant etc because that's just so wrong...

There still is a gap for Alexandra.....Jessie J is trying to take Katy's spot in the market....Jessie cannot dance at all and could never deliver a live performance as well as Alex.

Yes she has a great voice but I find it too over-produced, and safe (apart from Do It Like A Dude). In the US there is no dark skinned female who puts out hot uptempo songs and can dance, but at the same time delivers a powerful and soulful vocal with ballads....there is still a slot for Alex, and she still even now has the hype from blogs, and she also has a load of artists who would big her up when she launches there...Ne-Yo, Rico, Usher, Pitbull, Flo-Rida, D.Guetta, CS, Beyoncé....

All she needs is a few of them to mention her positively and endorse her then she's well on her way...I think the slot for her is still there....she just needs to act now before someone really does take it.

Thing is, auto tune or not, Alex is pretty much vocally unrivalled. Adele was good at the grammys but nothing special. Her voice is the same as ever. She belts well but its like there's a ceiling on the power of her voice, and range too, Alex destroys her. She can go this year easily. Its never too late. Jessie J can sell singles in the US but not albums, and thats Alex's advantage. I cant believe who you are has gone 3X platinum. That rubbish almost sold 1m copies!?!! WTF!

oh and what is this RUBBISH about black girls doing dance? There arent really any. Most do r&b, neo soul and soul. Rihanna, and Beyonce are the only ones who've had dance tracks out. And before them Whitney.

The point is yes Alexandra trumps then in talent but how is that showcased? How is she utilising that to her advantage? Christina is a much better singer than Britney but the latter was more successful because her marketing and FULLY utilising her strengths was unrivalled. Okay let's say you don't really know about Alexandra and you watch her elephant video for the first time, is it going to 'catch your eye'? For me know, because it will be like a typical black girl doing dance music.

Alex can be the most talented person but how she is handling her career is quite poor. Lana Del Rey is not the best singer and a poor performer but the management of her career is excellent...you get the drill

The performances were always amazing and Alex gave it all, the outfits and styling not so much. I really hope she doesn't recycle outfits like she did with Overcome. Speaking of performances this is one of my favourites from the Overcome Era.

You've been saying the same thing for years and honestly I think it's a non-issue at this point. We've seen nothing of Epic's management for the US because she's never released there so no-one can objectively comment on how she is being managed...

As for the UK her image is fine, they must be doing something right given her success here.

but it wasnt her fault, syco were a mess with her. She's in control now, but wasnt before. If a label refuse to do something there's nothing you can do. She had good UK promo, but syco were in no hurry to take her around the world, notice how leona had a release for bleeding love in december 2007, and 1Direction have their single out in the USA now, as do Cher lloyd and Rebecca ferguson + radio adds for each. Syco didnt care at all (and IMO I think simon saw Alex as a threat to leona with Echo). He had a mix of Whitney and Beyonce and chose to do nothing with her...any label would kill to have talent like that on their books. No artist handles their promo on their debut, its the label, and she has a whole new team of people now.

Most people like elephant actually. I wouldnt go 'another black girl on dance' at all. I'd go, she can dance, the song is catchy, and where can I buy it. She'll do promo of it, so the autotune is merely a stylistic feature. Only Kesha has autotuned vocals like that. She's ace live: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPQxSDgc0Mc

As long as they put her on every US tv show, she'll be fine, or put her on shows according to the songs popularity. Adele was on the odd show when her album came out, but when she hit number one in May, she was on tv all the time.

Better late than never... yay Part 6

Jessie J isn't great live- competent but not WOW. She also has a tendency to strain her voice and IMO think she's a better vocalist than she is! Plus she can't dance a routine and sing at the same time. This is Alex's strength, along with her ability to do stripped back acoustic performances such as 'Perfect' on tour which was amazing. I wish she'd utilise her voice more. Elephant doesn't really show off her voice at all. As for the vocal effects...

This is my favourite performance EVER
i remember sitting on the coach and i loved bad boys already. i was like WOOOOOOW this is amazing! i love that chick! then i became a fan

next week Cheryl was up, and i luaghed my ass off at my brother being a fan of that mimer xD

but anyway, i don't think it's too late for her, i mean Jessie J is good, but not wow, Radio isnt crazy about her, but they are about Alexandra. Her song Domino is due to fall next Billboard chart. She promo's her songs to death, that's why they are pretty succesfull. I can see het flop with her next album, since i thought (not only Me) Who You Are was dark, but now her follow-up is ever darker!

The energy in that performance is fantastic. Alex always delivers. And the energy from the crowd was great too- that's one of my favourite performances too, it's a shame about that dress though,Alex looked out of place at times and you could see she had to constantly keep pulling it down.

I know despite the minor blips, Alex still slayed that performance and what I love about Alex is that her performances are always at it's highest even when she's ill.

Minor blips like her white panties showing every 5 minutes but other than that it was amazing....

Imo she should visit all the european X Factor/Idol/Voice shows when she does her EU promo tour for this era....her performances always shut the place down lol....'X Factor make some noise'

I completely agree, Elephant has all the makings of a possible european- hit as long as the promo is on point.

I think it's a bit too extreme for her to sing live with that....if she put a dance break in or used the synth break she could totally nail that though....AB is an amazing dancer

I really hope the David Guetta rumour turns out to be true....it could be the song that she takes to the world stage easily...
