They were quite friendly at one point. There not as close nowadays. I don't think I'd buy them suddenly falling for one another though after all these years.

But it'd be a right kick in the teeth for both Peter and Tracy.

They spent so long building up Leanne, Peter and Simon as a family unit, I can't believe they have destroyed it in the course of two episodes.

Great idea! I think they'd be perfect together. Steve doesn't manage well by himself and badly wants a family of his own. So does Leanne. Steve's a big baby who loves being mothered by his partner(s). Leanne is very maternal and was always fussing over Peter. She seems to be at a stage in her life where she wants to settle down. Unfortunately the man she chose to settle down with was the weak, self indulgent and unstable Peter Barlow. After Peter I think she would find Steve's stability, strong will (sometimes to the point of being stubborn) and sense of morality very appealing.

Their pairing would create drama at the Barlows but I think Leanne could handle Tracyluv. Unlike Becky and Tracy Leanne is sweet, motherly and has a good reputation. Tracy will find it hard to compete with a woman who is everything Steve wants and everything she's not. Tracy would be devastated but she'd meet her match in Leanne. She'd need to watch herself because if she tried the same tricks with Leanne that she used on Becky the wrath of Stella would rain down on her.

I actually think getting involved with Leanne would do a world of good for Steve's character. He is pretty much just playing a caricature of himself these days and looks so bored, probably because of the ridiculous TraceyLuv storylines.
Leanne might bring Steve to life again.

I agree to an extent, she used to be one of my favourite characters back in the day she was so different. It's good she's matured but the mumsy Leanne is boring I'd like the writers to find a happy medium between the new Leanne and the classic Leanne Battersby. Maybe she could get back with Nick but that's a bit cliche as he's with Eva, I hope she gets some interesting storylines though.
