...there's not even been any confirmation that Gaga is releasing anything in 2012, and she's only touring the second half of the year, so...

There's every chance that they wlll both be outsold by '21' in its second year so it's probably a redundant question.

Ugh again with this???

MDNA will sell very very well, and her tour...i really think she is gonna break S&S back!

Whereas gaga will be on tour later this year and hasnt confirmed new material...if there is it will be November. So even then...mainy Xmas sales to launch it up methinks.

Pretty redundant tbh.

Does it matter.

In life they are both 'winner's.

As for the touring, well see both if you can because they put on great live show's.

I am bit surprised by all the Gaga Vs Madge thread's, given that in the back ground, Rihanna keep's clocking up these huge hits and is far more of threat in terms of 'newer' artists, to the wishes of the Little Monster army for Gaga domination.

I think its like a "territory thing"...Lady gaga is far more looked at, analysed, critically respected than Rihanna is (which is a shame IMO) despite the fact that albums have had similar style sales....gaga still has levels of hype from her fanbase.

Also i believe that despite all the "knock off/rip off/cheap" kinda comments, gaga has a very similar business mindset to Madonna. Which IMO is very very clever if nothing else you cannot take that away.

So thats why i think that it is always Madonna Vs gaga in some forums.

But tbh i dont care...Madonna is my fave artist, gaga is pretty cool and i really like her. And Madonna has said nothing but good things really about gaga and gaga is heavily influenced by Madonna! I see no reason why there are these fan wars to be honest. But whatever really....just wish i could afford to see them both live to be honest.

Madonnas tour will break the budget and gagas looks like it will be very warped fun indeed.

Your passion for Madonna should surely make you find the money - even if it was saving £5 a week since S&S ended - you knew there would be another tour eventually. Shocking.

Adele will top 1m US sales in the next two/three week and see her sales explode thanks to the Grammy's. Its going to be Adele's year again, at least in the US.

Why does anyone have to rule 2012, between Gaga and Madonna? One thing for sure is that Madonna won't come within a whisker of Born This Way's near 6m tally, but will probably gross double what Gaga does on her tour.

Madonna's Celebration and Hard Candy hardly lit the UK charts on fire. Apparently Hard Candy sold sumthing like 320k in the UK. Celebration less than that...

Madonna will break records for tour numbers. Albums wise I say she'll sell no more than 300k in the UK.

It depends if we are talking about present popularity or overall service to pop and successes in their carrer.

I will compare Gaga to Madonna when she has been packing out stadiums for over 20 years.

I respect an artist (even if I do not like their music) who has managed to stand the test of time.

Gaga might have higher sales figures at the moment but that does not mean she has what it takes to be consistent and have longevity Madonna has.

One is a 53 year old woman that has been knocking tunes out since the 80's, the other is a young 20 something that has been knocking tunes out 5 years at the most.

Until Gaga is packing out stadiums at 53, Madonna will always be the bigger and more successful star in my eyes. Whether you like Madonna or not you have to give her credit for her achievements.

It's unfair to compare really. I really doubt Gaga's going to release an album this year, however could she promote it when she's touring? What Gaga says and what she does are entirely different

On the other hand, M is releasing a new album which will garner a lot of publicity and is always a hit when it comes to her tours. I can imagine her new tour breaking S&S records as she's adding on Australia
