Is this worth it?

Hello, A friend is getting a new phone tomorrow and wants to know if I want her iPhone 3g for £110.

Its mint condition, unlocked and comes boxed with everything.

I know nothing about iPhones at all so have no idea if this is expensive or a bargain?

I'd say that is a fair price, but offer her £100 you've got to haggle

Yeah not a bad price, the 3G is a lil slugish these days but yeah not bad, as John said, offer £100

£100 for a 3G? I'd say that was a bit on the steep side personally. I sold a 3GS in mint condition for £100, a friend has sold a 3GS in "OK" condition for £80.

In that case, what do you think is reasonable.

I'd personally say about £50 to £60.

Its now an unsupported phone as it never receives any new updates nor features.

No way. £60 - £65 is a reasonable price.

I just gave mine away. The smile on the recipients face made it all worthwhile....

You've let that go for as much as Mazuma mobile would offer... unless you were doing someone a favour or desperately wanted the sale, you could've gotten between 150 and 200.

No more than £80 imo. Its a bit out of date now. If you desperately need an iphone see if you can get an iphone 4 on the cheap. My mate got his privately for just under £ 200

Thanks for the replies everyone.

My friend said I can take it home tomorrow and keep it for the weekend, to see if I want it or not, its not even for me, it would be for my boyfriend who has never had a touch screen before so Im thinking this will be a disaster lol.. I might ask her to knock a tenner off it as I just saw one for £90 on gumtree.

Thanks again.

Is it the iPhone 3G, or the iPhone 3GS. That really dictates what's a fair price. If it's the 3G, then it won't get any more OS updates, and isn't running the latest OS. If it's the 3GS, then that is running iOS 5 and will have the latest stuff like iMessage, and pull down notifications.

IMO you would be better off buying a newer budget phone for him....Nice thought though...
