Basically, which pets you wish you could have but can't for whatever reason, besides the obvious that everyone's skint!

Here's mine:

Chameleon - Would love one but i'm big on handling pets and most chameleons hate it.

Corvid bird - Ravens, crows, magpies etc... Really curious, intelligent birds, with funny character traits (Likes shiny things, likes puzzles etc...) But they're wild animals, there's no domesticated corvid species that I know. If anyone could reccomend a domesticated bird as an good alternative to a corvid, please let me know

Blood python - Impressive and beautiful looking snake, but would eat me upon oppurtunity. Gets too big for me to safely handle. I'll stick to the smaller snakes

Big dog - Got a soft spot for big dogs, particularly German Shepards, I also like St. Bernards', great danes, mastiffs etc etc.... but just haven't the space! Plus hairy animals can play havoc if you've got sensitive skin like meself.

A Doberman or Labrador. Both too big for my living situation and impractical because I have a cat - who hates dogs!

A Singapura cat to go with my Ragdoll and Maine Coone. Don't think my one bed flat could take it! They are very small though

When I kept pet rats, I always wanted a Capybara.

Obviously illegal and impossible in a London flat!

Now I have a cat, I wouldn't mind a black panther (again illegal!), although if a big cat treated me the same as my little moggie does, I would be dead within a day.

A couple of tigers would be nice. Even one would do!

A Dalmatian - I will get one someday soon though

A Tasmanian Pygmy Possum - So cute. I realise that they can carry disease though and according to my Gran they are real pests in New Zealand! Not exactly a suitable pet.

Panther - Beautiful creatures, a bit impractical of course. I'll have to settle with my black kitties

Mine is quite simple - I've wanted a pug for years but as I have a cat who hates cat its not likely and having a horse means I don't have much spare cash for a dog

There are loads of capybara next to my flat.

I want a coati.

If the American Pitbull Terrier wasn't banned here, I'd have one.
They're great dogs, nothing like the demon-beast image that's perpetuated by the media.

When I was younger and more able I would have loved a pony to look after perhaps a rescue one.
Now it would be a budgie but as I have two lovely cats I don't want to make the bird a nervous wreck by them watching him, so I stick to looking at the Budgerigar forum! lol.

My son would love a German Shepherd but his working hours prevent him from having one.

I had a pet rook once that I saved as a chick.

Blood Pythons only get to 5-7 foot long so not big enough to have to worry about being eaten

My list:

A Monitor Lizard - trouble is they need a room of their own they're so large.

A big cat - again needs a large cage and in addition a DWA licence.

A Newfoundland Dog

Thai Red Bamboo Rat Snake - possibility if I could find one.

My list

Donkey
Ducks
African Grey Parrot
Tortoise
Goat
King Charles Spaniel

What I actually have, cat and a husband. One is more hard work than the other....

I just had a look at the Coati. They look so cute. I don't think I could cope with one though. Looks like they can be quite destructive when bored. It must be fascinating to have what we in the UK think of as exotic animals running around outside. But I think I prefer to be here where you can step outside and go for a walk in the countryside without worrying that something is going to attack you.

I have a black Labrador and 2 cats. 1 cat who is an ex Spanish Street cat who is really tough. At 14 years old he still follows me over to the park when I walk the dog. I have to tell him to behave when another dog comes near as he gets aggressive. I've seen him chase dogs off and now some of regular dogs in the park just leave him alone and others are pretty good friends with him.

A horse
A family of meerKats (but not as pets just living in close vicinity to me as I would love to live in southern Africa)

I would love a chinchilla! Unfortunately it's not possible for me to have a pet as the responsibility is just to much at the moment. They look like lovely little creatures!

I would love about 10 more cats (I have 3 at the moment). But the only way I could get that many is if I won the lottery and could move to a big house in the country with lots of space for them all to live in.

I would also love a panda, but I don't think you can class them as pets.

I often joke that when I am old I'm going to live in a big house on a hill with large metal gates. I will be surrounded by loads of cats and be the eccentric old bird in the corner at all the family events.

I really want a golden retriever

Hubby has said we can have one when we build our house as a pet. We have 3 working collies (a mum and her 2 pups which are in training) but i'd like a dog more as a pet.
