I really miss my Emma, she was the most intelligent and beautiful Doberman, I had her for 14 years and we had to have her put to sleep (ironically when I was 14 also) because she had cancer.

My only pet wish would be just to have her back.

My list:

A Monitor Lizard - trouble is they need a room of their own they're so large.

A big cat - again needs a large cage and in addition a DWA licence.

A Newfoundland Dog

Thai Red Bamboo Rat Snake - possibility if I could find one.”

I'm so jealous of you having had a pet rook it's untrue! Blood python grows too big for me to handle on my own anyways. At 5"4/5"5, A 7 footer could eat me!!!

Pet shop i got my snakes from, I'm sure they've had thai red bamboo ret snakes in (they are beautiful), viper and vine it's called it's on internet somewhere. It's in Bury though bit of a way off for you

A parrot so I could teach it to speak and get it to say rude words
A tortoise - always wanted one thanks to Blue Peter
A dog - a King Charles Spanniel as I think they are lovely looking dogs or a Lassie dog

You'd be ok, a 7 footer would never eat you, rule of thumb tends to be you're ok to handle a snake if its no longer than head touching the ground one side and tail the other when over your shoulder - I'm 6ft but had no problems with a 9ft Indian Python and 10ft Boa.

What snakes have you got? I've got a Royal Python, Corn Snake, Russian Rat Snake, Mexican Black Kingsnake, Checkered Garter Snake and Dione Rat Snake at present, and there's a few more I'd like.

I had the rook for about 18 months, he was called Sparky and he was frigthened of heights so wouldn't fly. He lived in a rabbit hutch at night, but during the day he patrolled the back garden chasing off the cats or came indoors when he wanted feeding - he used to peck your ankle to get your attention.

I wanted a pet giraffe when I was a child, strangely enough my Parents didn't ever get me one.

Now I'd just love a second dog, but we're restricted by a one dog rule where we live, which is probably just as well since my collie would hate having to share us... and his toys!

A red panda, why can't you keep them as pets! they're so bloody cute.

An emperor penguin, just the site of it waddling around would cheer me up no end.

Oh, and an anteater, just because they look awesome.

I do have 2 chinchillas though, never a dull moment and I still laugh when they take a sand bath and then groom their whiskers. Never gets old!

That's good to know, maybe if I get serious money and space I'll invest in a blood python, I like African housesnakes too, they've got a cornsnake temperment and size but with a python-esque head. What a combo! I hear pythons are a bit more 'bitey' than other snakes, what's your experience with them?

I've got a 'ghost' cornsnake, he's beautiful, he's like a dog in a limbless sort of way, ridiculously tame, loves being handled and being stroked, never wants to go back in his tank. And he looks like a sock puppet when he yawns/sorts his jaw out
And I've got a western hognose, cute little duck face. She loves digging, and has buried a few holes through peoples' clothes! And she loves hair, she'll coil herself up in mine.
Ooooh I do love snakes. What are yours like being handled and that?

Sparky sounds like he was such a cutie! Found everything you said about him very endearing, even the pecking the ankles bit!

Aw I'm sorry *hugs*
I miss my german shepard like mad. Pets really do become part of the family, don't they? You grieve for them, but you're expected to get over it, 'it's just a dog' etc... b******s to that I bawl my eyes out over deceased pets

A puppy (flat is to small)
A reptile (partner isnt keen)
A a big fish tank with coral etc (not enough room and to much looking after, salt levels etc)
Chickens (to many cats and foxes around the area, wouldnt want to stress them out)
A tortoise (wouldnt know where to get one)
Pirahnas (partner isnt keen)
Gerbils (no space for gerbilarium)
Parrot (cat would never leave it alone)
Terrantula (again partner isnt keen)
Frogs (no space for tank)
Horse (no money for renting stables etc)
Rats in a walk-in cage (no space)

And others, mainly due to room really..if I had the space and money I would get all of the above whether my boyfriend likes it or not lol ....I currently have 1 cat called Thomas and one hamster called Sushi. I am a huge animal lover and have grown up around looooads of pets including 9 dogs, 16 or so cats, 5 rats, 2 guinea pigs, countless hamsters, gerbils, countless fish, 1 parakeet, 4 finches, 2 love birds, 2 budgies, terrantula, rabbits......and at one point a handful of lady birds which I kept in a hamster cage, sure enough they all crawled away lol

Always always always wanted ducks, but not got the garden for it. I hope in the future I can have a house with a big enough garden for a pond.

On a lesser note, would be nice to have chickens too
