Jack for Sennheiser 598 Headphones.
I have some Sennheiser HD598's. Trouble is for use with a portable device the 10ft cable with minijack adapter is way too long!.
Any senn users know where I could get a shorter cable with a minijack end? The phones also have a special locking 2.3mm? jack connection into the headphones too.

I've got a pair of HD570s with the same sort of lead. The headphone end looks like a bog standard 2.5mm jack to me. So any 3.5m to 2.5mm lead should do the trick. For example
http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/ps...-1m/dp/AV18657 If 1m is too short they do a 1.5m version http://cpc.farnell.com/pro-signal/ps...-st/dp/AV14075 Trouble is you'll spend more on the handling charge from CPC than the cost of the lead

Hmmm trouble is what is the width of the 2.3mm jack plastic. It goes some way up into the headphones socket. The official jack plastic is 7mm wide!

I have on occasion cut down the plastic on a mini jack plug. They tend to be fairly thick for some reason. So with a bit of care it should be possible to trim the 2.5mm jack down to size. Use a knife to trim most of the bulk off then file it down for the final few mm.
And at the price of those leads you can afford to destroy a few before you get it right
