Problem with Fiend

I have just had my room repainted (this was done 2 years ago) and the last time it was done I bought myself a 22" LG TV to go on my desk.

Now it has been repainted I have decided to upgrade this to a 32" (partially due to my eyesight). My friend has been nagging me to buy one for ages and we did some research on the Internet and decided which one to get

I was going to buy the Sony 32KDL523 in Richer Sounds Leicester but I was waiting till the price came down. I meet my friend in town quite allot a did so this Tuesday.

He offered to pay £100 towards the TV if I bought it there and then but I said no as I don't make rash immediate decisions when it comes to a big expense like a TV.

We left it that I would buy it at a later date. On tuesday evening I got a Skype call from him saying I have ordered one for you and will be delivered by Monday

I was horrified as I was going to wait

The total cost of the TV was £329.95 and he wants me to pay ALL OF THIS to him when I have money.

The problem is

1. I never asked for it to be ordered as we agreed to wait
2. I told him to wait
3. I haven't got that kind of money to throw away

What shall I do? as he will expect me to pay for it

Tell him he went against your wishes and if he's that impatient for a big TV he can pay for the expenses. He doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Tough luck. He ordered it so he can pay for it. Stand your ground. You made it quite clear yoou were not ready to buy a TV.

By the way - great typo, it is very clear what you think of this f(r)iend! :D

Sounds like the friend is a bit of a fiend, like horror-show.

Tell him straight to cancel it immediately and you're not happy that he went ahead and ordered it without your consent.

Is he a friend or a fiend ? Sorry !

Let him stew in his own juice and wait to be paid till you are good and ready , what a pushy person he seems to be .

Refuse delivery. You didn't order a TV.

He's not cancelled it - its being processed ready for delivery.

Stargazer. I did buy a 22" due to my room being repainted and my main shelf being left on my wall with books and that was the only one that could fit under there but now the shelf has been removed I decided to get a bigger one.

    (I am partially sighted).

So why have you got his TV?

Should I take delivery of it and then tell him he will need to be paid later as if I refuse delivery it will be sent back and then he will be upset. He is coming on Monday to sort it

Well he clearly wants his TV back and I suspect this is his way of achieving that. But he has gone about it the wrong way. Best you let him have his TV back and insist he cancels the order.

Probably be best to take your address out of that message. But you still have to tell himyou arent paying for it, as you didn't want it.
