Because everyone is using MORE, slowing everyone else down.

They can't use more they can only ever use what is available, the same amount of capacity is available.

Without an enforced cap you automatically share the pipe and get what you get.

With a cap you share the pipe and get what you get up to the cap and then it throttles.

You can never get more than the available capacity, and not being capped wouldn't cause the users who were capped before to get slower speeds, only the users who weren't capped before will get slower speeds.

Seems to be fine capacity wise using T-Mobile roaming from Orange... Got 4.3 D and 1.6 U earlier.

This is great news! We may consider getting our next contracts with T-Mobile on the full monty if they don't cap it again...

When roaming from Orange onto T-Mobile at home I get a fairly consistent 7.50 down and 2.30 up

This is mad. I've just done a speediest and got 3.8meg down and I'm on PAYG in a not very good signal area. That's as fast as my home broadband on a good day!

So, Orange customers which use the T Mobile signal share will get these speeds?

I have yet to see anyone get an upload higher than about 0.6 yet though on T-Mobile? Are they still capping that?

On orange using T-Mobile I can't get anymore than 7.50 D and 2.30 U. Someone needs to test Three and T-Mobile in same place cos everyone says Max they seen on T-Mobile is 7 but I see people on three claiming 12

Right, I just reset my data connection, and I'm getting 4.2 down and 0.6 up, which is a considerable improvement. I may just be tempted to stay with T-Mobile if this is a permanent move..

Yeah me too, I always said i'd never touch t-mobile cos of these caps, I have just never trusted or liked them... But if this cap is removed for good then I may consider.
