And I defo disagree about the 'real foodie' comment. Places like dominoes/pizza hut yes they are franchised and mass produced cheap food but a lot of local takeaways (at least around my area) take more care with their food then resturantes”

Yup...there's a kebab shop near me that's run by 2 Turkish brothers and I often chat to them about their products. Everything is fresh, everything is made in store, and everything is bloody lovely. That said, I think these days that most places do serve crap, which probably wasn't the case 15-20 years ago.

I thought I could eat but not a chance I could polish that off.

We have a take away maybe once a month depending on whether we have appointments late in the day that makes it a bit late to think about cooking.
We have a chinese a couple of nights ago as I had a late hospital appointment that also ran later than expected.
I like any takeaways though apart from Pizza, I think my favorite is Lamb tikka shareen from the indian or crispy shredded chilli beef from the chinese.

At least once a week, my choice of food varies a lot. At the moment my favourite is fish and chips, but I miss chips and cheese sauce so much Might have to have a chinese soon, not had one for nearly a year!

Depends, in the summer we have an Indian pretty regularly as we're often away on the boat and there's an excellent Indian close by. We haven't found a decent one close to home. I like Chinese but OH isn't so keen, the fish and chips round here are dire and the pizzas are worse.

Mmmm my favourite Indians are tandoori prawn mossala, or prawns done with chilli, garlic and ginger, or tandoori chicken. I love the lemon rice they do as well. We always have popadums and dips, and if we're feeling really greedy we have nan bread as well. The nan breads are the best I've ever had. Drool'

I used to eat a lot of takeaways. Hardly have them at all now. I prefer to cook my own takeaway type dishes.

I used to get fish n chips once a week. Haven't done so for a while. Will have to start back to to get my portion of fish a week.

I really on get a takeaway after a night out. Usually a kebab or chips cheese & garlic.

or a mini munchy box

We have no takeaway places anywhere near us, and the nearest fish and chips shop is about 6 miles away. We get fish and chips 2 or 3 times a year, and that's it.

A pretty unhealthy 2 or 3 times a week for me

It's always Chinese on a Friday, and KFC at least once a week. Sometimes McDonalds or chip shop thrown in too.

I have a takeway maybe 3/4 times per month. Its usually chippy or mcdonalds. I do enjoy chinese and indian but i might have one of these once every other month because i like lots of side dishes (spring rolls, bhajis, samosas, naans etc etc delete where applicable) so i dont get them that often as it costs to much to get what i like!

Probably about once a month.... I live alone, and it's seriously depressing ordering a takeaway for one, trust me! I usually only have takeaway food when I'm at a friends/parents house.

Same here, it's once every few months. It's actually good having someone else do all the cooking for a change.

Never. Much prefer cooking for the family myself every night, even if it's rarely from scratch. In the time it takes to place the order and wait on the delivery, we can already be sitting down to ours - and for a fraction of the price.

Once or twice a year. I'd much rather cook something myself than eat something that may have been prepared in suspect conditions

I had a kebab on Friday, and this was my first takeaway so far this year. I like an occasional Chinese but, apart from an occasional pizza, rarely have takeaway meals (eg burgers) that I could cook at home.

More likely to eat out then order a takeaway. Order a takeaway maybe once a month.

A Subway once a week-once every 2 weeks.

A chinese or an Indian once a month.

We used to have takeaway perhaps twice a week but have recently had a Cook open near us and it has all changed. When we are too tired to cook decent food we stick one of their meals in the oven and just cook some rice or a baked potato to go with it. Much cheaper than a takeaway and delicious food!
