They're actually very good R&B lite - especially the funky Something Kinda Funny and Last Time Lover, these songs could have been on a TLC album.
A shame they best known for Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life and Mama! Although the amount of albums sold - most people know these songs anyway

step to me was not an album track, apart from japan. i am not being funny and i love the spice girls. however, even though i can see the `rnb lite` observation. i think that the songs would be out of place on a tlc album. they were more pop orientated and their singles were great pop songs. the ballads in particular will stand the test of time.

Baby Come Round was a b-side too - could have added it onto the album proper, there's plenty of room.
Last Time Lover - I can totally hear T-Boz doing the Mel B opening verse. Yeah they are ALL pop songs reaaaally but think the "girls" are just thought of for Wannebe - a genius pop song but not exactly high brow stuff.

Spice Girls had something didn't they? MJ, Madonna have it....Lady Gaga, Beyonce have it too....Kylie and Britney have some of it and the Spice Girls did too. I so wish that they would record a studio version of WOMAN .... It was a Spice Girls anthem and should have been the addition on the greatest hits not Voodoo.

it depends on where in the world you are i guess. i don't immediately think of `wannabe`, when i think of them. i don't think any of their music is high brow to be honest. that's not the audience they were aiming for.

that was a good track and completely wasted considering the material that they released on `forever`.

I shouldn't be playing them at 37! I was too old for them when I was 22. But I'm a gay so I guess it's okay

Holler-Holler-Holler-Holler-C'mon, Holler-Holler-Holler-Holler-C'mon

Is playing now - one of my faves from them - shame the backlash started and the album sank - in a battle with fookin Shitelife of all things.

i was not a lot younger than 22 at the time and pushed my way past the kids to get to the front of their concert in paris.

the album was below par and they abandoned promotion rather quickly.

There are some fantastic album tracks, on spice world particularly. Saturday Night Divas may actually be my favourite spice girls song ever

I remember not thinking much of 'Bumper to Bumper' (which is actually a B-side) when i had the Wanabe CD single, but it's actually quite good now!

Yeah, that song stood out on the tour (which I didn't see, on telly!) yet they let Time Drags on (should have been the name) and Get Down With Me made the cut.....the song reminded me the 80's advert for Woman mag "W O M A N - exciting again!"

i don't remember the advert, lol. `woman` was more pop so perhaps that is why it was excluded. `right back at ya` seemed to have been given the rnb treatment and fitted in better.

The album isn't up to the other 2 (minus Lady Is A Vamp - UGHHHH!!) but Darkchild era 2000-1 was a bit ropey - think MJ Invincible, Brandy Full Moon

it was a commercial and artistic disaster. the change of genre was not a wise move and their hearts were not in it.

I absolutely loved Love Thing and Last Time Lover when I was younger. I was a huge Spice Girls fan, and I still love their songs (nostalgia mainly), but I'm hoping that they've drawn a line under it all now, no more reunions!

Naked is alot better than I remember it being.

Such a shame/mistake that Step To Me wasn't included on the GH.

It should've been a 'Best of...' instead. 45 Million people owned every song on that album except the crappy new ones, there should've been more incentive to buy.

i wonder if the press coverage of their musical will help the greatest hits in all way? if the musical goes well, it could work in their favour.
