Have you bought any clothes, sunglasses or wigs for your cat/s or dog/s?

And yet again,

I have hairless dogs. They need clothes.
Other posters have dogs suffering from allergies so need protective clothes.
Some have dogs with very thin fur (Staffies and Greys spring to mind) so need a coat in the cold.

Then there is the odd person that occationally dresses up their dog or cat on special occations if their pet tollerates it.

And most DS users are accepting of all the above.

But no-one here advocates dressing up unwilling dogs for the whims of the owner, though that 'love' is prefered to neglect and abuse.

And while there may be medical reasons for wearing sunglasses/doggie goggles (I have an internet friend with a mongrel that benefots from goggles in sun) I can't see anyone here advocating wigs.

That said - any dog that sits for a photo in a wig is probably highly trained - so more stimulated than many a 'normal' dog.

If I ever bought clothes for my kitties my mum would absolutely kill me!

Yes - I think that the wig (referred to in the quote above) is rather similar in style to the hairstyle of the much-missed Pauline .

I have no doubt that cat model Shaft (pictured on the final link in the first posting to this thread) would have accepted an invitation to play Pauline's cat - complete with silver fox wig - in Eastenders had there been an offer.

I mean, why would you? Cats look stupid in wigs!

Woolly coats and sweaters are a bit different, at least they serve a purpose, although I wouldn't suggest it for an outdoor cat - its mates would all point and laugh.

Our Maine Coon is such a soft eejit that I'm sure he'd probably have loved to have been dressed up and wheeled around in a pram!

I bought a UFO wig for my cat, but I don't think it suits him.

He would pass any auditions for a new series of UFO, I am sure.

We've just discovered snoods, magic for keeping Duncan's hair and ears out of his wet food. He goes mad when we get it ready to put on him knowing the next thing is his food being served to him.

I find it cruel and unnecessary. It says quite a lot about the owners.

Just let her try going out into the garden like that, the mice will be falling about laughing (which reminds me of a series of books my kids had about the Church Mice - there was a cat as well, who was supposed to be catching the mice and was actually friends with them. Anyone else remember?).

The mice might have the same sort of wigs on too.
