Desmonds is an old Channel 4 sitcom and Pork Pie one of the characters in it.

Is Australasian really a word?

Should it not just be Australian?

No, because the term ''Australasian'' covers New Zealand as well - hence the inclusion of Kiwi bands Split Enz & Crowded House.

Unfortunately i can't give more details, they are currently unsigned over here and I can't afford to let anything spoil that and other talks going on soon. But they will be big!!!!

what's the band called ? I can't imagine that their name is secret just because they're unsigned. There are so many great new unsigned bands in Oz anyway, I doubt they'll be that big compared to the other ones.

Have they been played on JJJ ? Is it Little Birdy ? The Presets ?
the Dissociatives ?

well if they've been played on JJJ, that does sound promising.
Is it one of them ?

6music NOW (channel870) !
There's a program on Oz music (from 11AM to 2PM).
But I'm afraid they'll only talk about INXS like all these programs usually do. Still give it a chance, eh.

Australasia is the area that includes Australia, New Zealand, New Guinea, and the many smaller islands in the vicinity, most of which are the eastern part of Indonesia.
