The Help 8/10, I had read the book, but was pleasantly surprised by the movie. Excellent cast and nicely told without veering into sentimentality. Nice balance of humour while remaining true to the time and the situation.

Paranormal Activity

Never seen this before despite friends trying to pressure me into seeing it. Surprised how much I enjoyed this.

7/10

Troll Hunter

Another found footage film I saw recently. A couple of teens follow a man who's suspected of killing bears when in fact they realise he's a troll hunter . What I loved about Troll Hunter is how straight faced the whole thing is. The balance between comedy, satire and drama is perfect. I'm just dreading an American remake now

9/10

An amazing film. You can't take your eyes off it. I also find the scene where they storm the shop far more uncomfortable than the infamous scene that it's often remembered for.

The Wicker Man (1973) 7/10 Can't undertsand why it didn't do very well and only later become a cult film. Had me gripped from the beginning. You totally put yourself in Howie's position. A very atmospheric film

Jaws IIII.........3/10.

How can film's special effects actually get worse?

Fantasic scenery was the main reason I watched, It saddened me to read the history of the little actress who died..

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace 3D. I'd give the film itself 9/10 because I think it's great and was so good to see it on the big screen again. As for the 3D, it was so subtle, it was almost unnoticeable. Missed a lot of chances to have things really come out at you.

Lost in Translation. off film4. 6/10.

Very clever. I see y it was a hit with critics. And Bill Murray is v good. But it's a sereis of scenes really,no story, and in the end very unsatisfying.
