Although I've been vocal about Superbowl I'm prepared to fork out hard earned cash! See! It's possible to be objective and support her at the same time....

Well a one off performance compared to a 2 hour live set is gonna be totally different and see Madge give totally 100 per cent. Although i enjoyed her super bowl spot recently.

well, i warned you to stick to buying her music, since you was so disappointed in her superbowl performance. if you don't like the show, i will be the first to say, i told you so.

i don't see how that makes you objective though, if i am being honest.

Oh I don't know either! I loved the Confessions tour right near the stage....but it's the cheapo tickets so I'll probably be next to the last Oak tree near Hyde Park Road.
My best friend since 1979 has always wanted to go - we made a pact in 1990 when Vogue came out - she was disgusted when I went to Confessions with an ex-boyfriend instead. This is me making it up to her

yes, well that certainly clears that one up and i suspected it had nothing to do with objectivity. i hope you enjoy the show.

i am hoping for another date, hyde park is not my ideal venue. besides, i want to hear the album first. since she will no doubt perform about 60% of it on this tour.

Yeah there's bound to be one - didn't want to risk it though - she'd kill me. I've liked all her albums like GMAYL and Ringpiece so it'll be fine. She's only copying Kylie anyway - she performed all but one song from Aphrodite

I thought it was a shame she had to lip-sync at the Super Bowl, but I can understand why. Not sure about the tour. To see her I'd want good tickets, but I'm not overly sure whether I'm willing to part with cash to see someone who comes across as a complete cow.

i like the songs so far too, i just want to get into the album first. i have been to her last 3 tours, so just waiting for a better venue hopefully.

I'd go see this if it was at The O2, but Hyde Park for a pop concert? No thanks.

It strikes me that Madonna didn't really want to do the Superbowl. She even admitted that it wasn't "her turf". I get the impression that everything about that show was for sheer commercialism. Incorporating a huge advertisement for Interscope records. I even think the lip synching was done because the people who managed her wanted her to concentrate on spectacle rather than substance. it was good enough to be classed as spectacular, the songs were well liked and she basically just went on stage and became Madonna for 10 minutes. She said she was relieved when it was over because it meant she could now get on with her putting her show together. Madonna works better when she's in control. It was clear that she wasn't for the Superbowl.

Hope you enjoy the concert. It doesn't matter about the venue. It's the atmosphere that counts!

Oh totally, I mean i loved the performance for what it was and it was a spectacle. But in her Seacrest interview (which is also really fun!) she pretty much opens up that NFL were pulling strings and obviously Interscope want to market all their artists, so what better way to do it?

But for what it was it generated even more hype for MDNA as an era so it worked in those respects too. But i feel Madonna kicking the MDNA album promo will be with "girls gone wild" I personally feel, it will be like the massive launch single really definitely.

ANd all her shows are stellar stuff, each so different to the next one So cannot wait to see what she does for this World Tour.

I think the reason that Madonna didn't want to do the SuperBowl was because she was focused on promoting her movie W.E.
If you listen to her interview with Ryan Seacrest, she says yes, there were restrictions on what she could do, but in the end it was one of the best performances she'd ever done and there was so much love and positivity for her from the audience and from people in general. Sometimes from the media and the Internet, you get the idea that everyone hates Madonna. Even some fans thought she'd be booed off the stage by the football people. But it was so well received. Some of my older relatives in America, including some who are in their eighties, who are football fans but not pop fans watched it and they were blown away by her performance.
Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and give up control. to take things to another level. You have to take that leap of faith. She did it and she really took it to another level.
LAP seemed live to me, although the rest was lip synched. There was too much emotion in that song for it to be mimed. I almost cried when I watched it.
It wasn't all about being commercial. She herself said it was such an amazing experience. It's really amazing that there was so much pressure and high expectations, but she exceeded all of that. The Super Bowl was one of the best things she's ever done to me.

Yeah definitely agree there. And yes I mean Madonna is a massive risk taker anyway so kudos on her for doing that. ANd wow yes reaching people she never would have before like your grandparents which is really exciting.

So with that overall i am so pleased it is well recieved. ANd yes for me and the majority of fans i definitely feel this will be one of her massive televised highlights to look back on. Lip synching aside! It was a phenomenal showcase of something she can do physically. ANd yes Like A Prayer was so emotive and it had a reasonance with millions emotionally (i was wet eyed!) because i feel Like A Prayer is truly a testament to how far she came in a short period and where critics and the world really took notice of everything Madonna could do. And that absolute euphoria was achieved there and then i feel too.

Still not convinced. You were so critical about her SB performance - even agreeing with maninthequeue who was worse than you in slagging her off - that surely buying tickets to see her should have been a clear 'no' option. Unless you miraculously got your eyes open from the previous positive posts, feels like you were a bit of a troll going against the grain just because the unconditional L-U-V there was in the room for her made you a bit sick...

2 words - Guy Oseary...I have the feeling he talked to her into it a great deal. She kind of implied it when she explained in an interview a few days before the performance how the SB came about. I did wonder as well if she was keen to do it initially and when you think she kept saying she must deliver the greatest show on earth, it now makes more sense to me. I can imagine if she felt 'forced' to do it, she'd definitely do something worth the trouble!? The obvious benefits aside, it's probably a very good thing for her to do at this stage of her career. I wonder if 11 years ago when she was first approached to do it, she had been that 'relaxed' or even been ready to let another body pull the strings for her own show!?

Oh well, a bit masochism never hurts - But then don't complain and daring slagging her off after seeing the show in June!? I'll not be having it!!!

I've got a gold circle ticket for Hyde Park, going alone though as none of my friends could afford to go this time around, it will be my first solo trip to a concert

Been to the last 3 tours, always had nice seats in the 3rd or 4th row, Hyde park will be an experience, although the last time I was at a concert there, was Simon & Garfunkel and the sound was terrible, but we'll see....
