Do you have a roast every Sunday?
Before I started cooking for the family we hardly ever had a roast, my mum rarely cooked them. Now I'm the main 'cooker' we pretty much have one every Sunday. I adore having a Sunday dinner every Sunday, but do you have one every week? If so, what meat do you have?
We alternate beef, lamb, pork, etc. But I still add all the trimmings, ie roast potatoes, veg, yorkies, gravy etc. |

Not every Sunday. Occassionally I will do either a stew or a pie instead. If we do have a roast, it's mainly chicken or pork.

I'd say we have a roast on a Sunday every few months. When I lived at home I had a roast every Sunday but I got bored of it after a while. Now I'm the cook in my own house, I prefer to have one every few months. It's nice to have one when you haven't had it in a while. I'll often do Toad-in-the-Hole on a Sunday with mash and lots of gravy.

Mostly, normally chicken but now and then I fancy something else or the son has a late kick off for the football and then the timing is all wrong and I can't be doing with it.

Nope. I have only recently had weekends off (new job) so usually worked every other Sunday.
I live on my own, so any roast leaves me with so many leftovers, I tend to have one as a treat every so often

I do because I think they are absolutely fab but I remember when I lived at home Sundays were 'real cooking' days rather then roast days.
What I mean is my Mum was always majorly busy with 3 jobs and so most nights we had 'chicken nuggets' or 'sausage and chips' it's was basically pre made food that went straight in the chip pan. However on Sundays Mum always used to breakout the good recipes and we have proper food like a roast, spag bol, toad in the hole, stew and dumplings etc I always used to look forward to coming home late after being out with my mates to find a lovely roast semi warm in the oven ready for me with mums Yorkies ready to be dipped in gravy...best feeling in the world!! |

We have Sunday roast every Sunday without fail. It would be anarchy here if I didn't do one. I really cannot remember a time over the past, say 20 years when I didn't do it. I even managed to cook one 6 days after having a brain tumour removed, God only knows how I managed it. (I must be b***dy mad! or just 'brain damaged' I guess).

No, Sunday's no different to any other day. I'm an only child, my mum and dad divorced when I was 13, dad died years ago and I'm divorcing (2 kids). I love the idea of big family roast dinners on a Sunday but I've never had that.

I usually do a roast on a Sunday, either beef or chicken with all the trimmings. Occasionally we have a casserole or a home made pie as well. In summer things alter because it could be too bloomin' hot to bother - then we'll have very few roasts and just have a BBQ or salady things.

Saturdays tends to be the day I do a roast usually a chicken, 3 out of 4 weekends will be a roast during the winter. During the summer I roast a chicken on a Friday and my husband eats it cold over the weekend, treating the dogs to some too.

I would if i could - quite tempted to go out and buy a bit of pork for today's dinner
I love cooking a big dinner on a sunday as we always had one growing up, but hubby's family never did. |

Only ever have a roast on Christmas day. It's a very dull, bland and unimaginative dish I don't get why lots of people enjoy it.

we dont eat at the table tho - we like eating off our knees infront of the telly. we only sit at the table at christmas. |
