Can't set up personal hotspot on IPhone 4S

I click on set up personal hotspot in the network options in settings & it comes up a message saying "To enable Personal Hotspot on this account, visit http://www.o2.co.uk/iphonehelp/modem

I click on go to website but it says file not found. I go in through the browser too but still won't work.

Any ideas on what to do?

If you have an old O2 tariff, it probably doesn't include tethering on your data plan, which is why it would redirect you to that O2 page. The newer data tariff's have tethering included, and that would allow you to use the Hotspot feature.

You have to buy an addon from O2 to tether, which you have to pay an extra monthly charge from.

Im sure it's meant to be free on my contract. Got a new 12 month context last April/May

This means your account does not have tethering (personal hotspot) activated. Although O2 include tethering on all current plans they haven't always, so if you're on an older tariff then you might not have it included.

If you're on a new tariff that does include it then give O2 a call and get them to resend the configuration profile to your handset.

My contract was from last April/May, is that too old?

Shouldn't be. The inclusive tariffs began late March 2011 IIRC. Have you always used an iPhone on this tariff? If O2 don't know you have an iPhone then they won't be sending out the correct configuration profile.

Always had an iPhone but changed to a 4S after I got the contract. I got a Samsung Galaxy as the upgrade when I got the new contract but never used it so that might be the problem. I'll give them a bell tomorrow & see what's what.
