Tesco mobiles

I've just noticed Tesco sell mobiles. Are these available to view in Tesco shops (I don't live near one)?

I'm after a cheapo one on PAYG purely for texting. I'd need large letters on the keypads with a reasonably sized screen. I saw one online (can't remember the model) which had huge numbers but tiny letters which I don't understand as, surely, you text letters = words and not mainly convey numbers!

For emails, etc I'm happy to continue using my laptop at home (which I'm happy with)

So, can these be viewed in some Tesco stores and/or can anybody recommend such a mobile to meet my needs?

Thanks

It does not take long to remember / instinctively know which letters are produced by pressing which number buttons.

Thanks Gomezz. That's a possibility I guess but can be a bit difficult sometimes for one whose sight is not quite the average (sorry, I can't think how to word that better!)

Or put it another way. Kids today can text by touch alone with their mobiles still in their pockets.

How can you not live near a Tesco store? They're everywhere!

This shows some of the range but stores sometimes have 'store only' promotions if you can get to one.

I noticed they had a basic Samsung handset for £9.97 with a free network sim included instore recently.

Yes, these can be viewed in Tesco Extras and (I believe) some larger Tesco stores.

Handset wise - how cheap are you looking for? The Samsung E1080i for example is dirt cheap, has clear letters on it's keypad, but it's screen isn't the largest.

As posted, some of the bigger stores have a 'phone shop' within the electrical department.

I got a Tesco's £10 per month contract recently. 250 mins talk, 5000 texts and 500meg of data - more than enough of everything for me.

As far as I know they use the o2 network; I used to have a Vodafone mobile and the signal was often non-existent, however Tesco/o2 is much better so far.
