Well, John York would never axe Perry, as he worked with the character throughout both his main stint as EP, and his short 'emergency' stint in 2005.

To Kat's annoyance, Alfie has allowed Derek to move into the Queen Vic as he is now the joint owner of the East End boozer. Kat tells Alfie that Derek must go, but deep down they both know that Derek isn't going anywhere. DCI Marsden moves into the flat above the surgery and invites Jack around to a housewarming dinner. Tamwar decides to show Afia his scars, Afia is horrified - not at Tamwar's appearance but at what her Father did to her husband. But Tamwar takes her signs the wrong way and runs off to Syed's flat. Jay and Abi get chips and hangout at the playground, while Abi is meant to be looking after Oscar. Oscar runs away but he is soon returned to the teen lovers by Jean. Bianca decides to apply for a job at the Vic but she doesn't know Kim and Roxy have also applied for the position. Cora suggests to Max and Tanya that Lauren should attend an Alcoholics Anonymous group for support about her drinking problem. Duff Duff: Tamwar runs off, embarrassed, to Syed. Max and Tanya refuse the idea of Lauren going to an Alcoholics Anonymous group, but when Cora tells them it's there last hope, the pair agree to discuss it with Lauren over dinner. Tamwar has stayed the night at Syed's unaware that Afia is packing her bags preparing to leave for a new life in Singapore. Zainab and Masood beg Afia to stay but their daughter-in-law tells them she cannot stay unless she knows Tamwar loves her. When Ray and Sasha are left homeless by Ray's ex-wife, Janine offers them the chance to rent a room in one of Butcher's Joints houses. The catch is that it's Bianca's house and the pair will have to share. DCI Marsden keeps an eye on the square with help from former DI Jack. Alfie and Derek reveal that Bianca will become the new barmaid, even though Alfie opposed to the appointment. However this means Bianca will have to spend even more time with Ray. Rose tries to talk Andrew out of marrying Heather, but Dot overhears and is shocked by the actions of her half-sister. Mo has a new business venture, selling Jean's homemade bakery products. William Ash has stepped down from his proposed role as Tim Scott.
The part will now be played by Tony O'Callaghan, known for 12 years in the Bill as Matt Boyden, he has also appeared in Family Affairs and Shameless. EP John Yorke said he is delighted to have O'Callaghan join the cast of Eastenders but admits it will be a challenge to re-film all of Tim Scott's scenes in time for his arrival on Monday 13th February 2012. |

Lauren and Max, Tanya and Cora discuss the idea of Lauren joining an Alcoholics Anonymous group. Lauren is completely against the idea but after a heart to heart, where Cora opens up to Lauren and tells her she is scared that the teen will go down the same path as rebellious Rainie, Lauren agrees to attend a meeting at the community center on Monday. Zainab tells Tamwar that Afia is boarding a flight to Singapore as she speaks. Tamwar realizes that he loves his wife, despite everything her Yusef put Zainab and himself through. As FatBoy and Tamwar rush to Heathrow airport. Tamwar spots Afia and races towards her. He tells her he loves her and needs her. She tells him he doesn't need her, and he will find someone better one day. Tamwar tells her he doesn't blame her and that she shouldn't feel guilty. In a touching moment they embrace and she agrees to come back to him. Duff Duff: Tamwar and Afia are back together. Jim's Funeral
EP John Yorke has announced the return of Natalie Cassidy, Sonia Fowler. She will return for her on-screen Grand-Father's funeral and then stay for a few days afterwards. Also making an appearance at the funeral will be new character Fran Lovejoy, the Ex-Wife of Derek Branning, who was very friendly with Jim. She will be played by Pam Ferris, who has played parts in Harry Potter and most noticeably Rosemary&Thyme. Fran wants to pay her respects to Jim but wants to know why Derek hasn't visited his kids since he was released from prison. |
