When I think of classic albums, i immediatley think of the obvious such as Michael Jackson's Thriller and The Beatles's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Which albums do you think could be considered Classics that have been released in the last decades?

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Such an incredible album that is so highly regarded. It was highly regarded before her death and millions even went out their to see what the fuss was about when Amy sadly died. The production is incredible. The songwriting is flawless. Amy brought back the "doo wop", motown" elements that hadn't been around in a long time.

it's a tricky one because what criteria makes a 'classic album', critical acclaim, commercial success, or personal taste? Just thinking of Kate Bush's Hounds of Love, which is generally regarded as a 'classic album' and whilst I can clearly see why it is considered as such, I've never really considered it her best work.

I think classics by general public consensus. ie thriller, back to black. Timeless music, and the recent one being adele's 21, beyonce's 4 etc. Stuff you could easily listen to in 60 years time without it sounding old.

ABBA: The Visitors
Dire Straits: Brothers In Arms
Kate Bush: Hounds of Love
Madonna: Like A Prayer
Chris De Burgh: Into the Light
Chris Rea: Road to Hell
Micheal Jackson: Thriller

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill
Just an incredible pure and raw R&B. Better than anything I have heard from any Female of the R&B genre. Generations of potential R&B fans are bound to discover this as time goes on.

Oasis - Whats The Story (Morning Glory)... Even though I prefer Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory is the album that made them worldwide.

So very hard to narrow it down, but I'd go for one of Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not by the Arctic Monkeys, because it came out when I was 13 but it shaped the music I'd listen to for the next 6 years, Back To Black by Amy Winehouse because I'd loved her from her Frank days but this was the kind of music I'd listened to as a toddler and it touched me in such an amazing way or Myths of the Near Future by Klaxons, because it was the first album that genuinley got me excited- I saw them live not long back and they hold a very special place in my heart.

I will do my list based on my personal favurite artists and the ones who have had massive influence as albums on other artists, people, commercial appeal and/or critical success...and for me these albums are as follows -

Madonna - Ray Of Light
Bjork - Debut
Bjork - Homogenic
Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love
Kate Bush - The Kick Inside
grace jones - Nightclubbing
grace jones - Hurricane
The Velvet Underground & Nico
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Sly & The Family Stone - There Is A Riot goin On
Marvin gaye - Whats goin on
Marvin gaye - I Want You
Prince - Sign O The Times
Britney Spears - Blackout

Janet Jackson - Rhythm Nation
Michael Jackson - Off The Wall

The Doors - The Doors
Lou Reed - Transformer
Donna Summer - Bad girls
Rolling Stones - Sticky FIngers

^^^ for me the albums that really paved the way for a load of contemporary artists and artists through time, have had an influence in music, culture, entertainment for different reasons. Were either considered unpopular at the time and were later celebrated as classics and/or defined music at the time in their respective eras. Or just damn right killer albums! But i narrowed them down to my personal favourites and the ones i feel are classics
