Exactly. It was a live show, and the planned format was interrupted. Jen wasn't able to come over for her interview, and instead went off to get treatment.
The stunned looks weren't just because they thought Jen might be dead, but because they had to keep going and fill the space where they would have interviewed her, and explain why they weren't interviewing her.
It was obvious to me, watching at home, that she'd hit herself in the head, but it may not have been clear to Phil, who was probably trying to keep the show going whilst trying to get the balance right between not being alarming and the very obvious fact that she'd just stabbed herself in the head and been taken off the ice for treatment.
