can anyone help me.

i am trying to add my virginmedia email address onto my iphone 4s, i have gone through all the settings etc and it just wont add everytime i try i get the message user name or password is incorrect but i know all the details are correct because its the same details i use to login on my laptop.

I've just tried out the same on my iPhone 4S and it's recognised the account no problem.

It comes up as IMAP; have you got IMAP enabled on Virgin Media's web mail services?

1) Visit virginmedia.com and click on 'Email.'

2) Sign in using your virginmedia.com email address and password.

3) Click on 'settings' on the right hand side of the page near the top.

4) Click 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

5) Scroll down to IMAP access and enable it using the radio button entitled 'Enable IMAP.'

6) Save the changes and log out of your email.

7) Delete the account on your iPhone 4S and set it up again and it should work now.

I assume it said username/password is incorrect for imap.virginmedia.com (words to that effect.)

all those settings are saved and it still doesnt work my wife has the same phone with same settings and her virgin email works just mine doesnt were both on the same mobile network

What is coming up on your iPhone in terms of error messages?
