I joined Slimming world online as I can't go out far so couldn't join a club. I couldn't get my head around it, it seemed so complicated trying to work out what to eat.

Pasticcio is a bit like a moussaka but the meat sauce is mixed with pasta.

I like that idea for the topping, I ususally make a white sauce but that would be quick and easy. I suppose you could use it on Moussaka too, or bobotie. Does it set ?

Have made pasta bake for tonight and going to top it with white sauce, but I was wondering could I just mix a couple of eggs into creme fraiche? Our local shop doesn't have fromage frais

You could do that. You can also use mascarpone or better still, ricotta.

Can only get to the co-op tonight, ricotta and mascarpone are a bit exotic for them

You can also use cottage cheese or just a basic white sauce (bechamel / cheese sauce).

if you use the bechamel remember to syn it, probably quite heavily as it is traditionally made with butter and ff milk
