With people like Westlife, Robbie Williams, Girls Aloud, Rachael Stevens, Atomic Kitten etc etc still around I doubt it's the end of the pop song!

You say bad things about charity records... can I point you towards the absolutely fantastic Help! album for Warchild... It was done in the real spirit of how charity records should be done. All the artists went into the studio over the same 24 hour period all around the world, and they submitted their recordings to the album. I do believe the tracks were recorded about a week before the final release date. It was definitely after the cover sleeves were sent to press, becuase in the text on there they didn't have a clue who was going to make the final album.
None of this "ooh, lets throw an already recorded B side to that album to get more publicity" that seems to happen nowadays.

Have you got the repeat rate on your 'full stop' key set too fast?
