I thought it dragged this week and seemed to go on forever.

Apart the usual cliffhanger ending it was a slow episode and yes I do "get it" but it was still boring watch.

I hope next week is better

If they haven't made at least 5 or more copies of that video (how hard would it be to do just that? Heck I could do it, and I am a techno novice!), then that just ruins the whole plot, as to make the show sooo unbelievable.

That would be the first thing that anyone would do in that situation, relying on just the one card, wpuld be suicidal in the extreme.

when i say 'get it' i don't mean understanding the story. i mean being drawn into the emotional complexity of the characters. the 'slow' quiet scenes with virtually no dialogue is actually where the meat of the program is. as someone said above...it makes for 'compelling' viewing.

Or just move further away when the taior started groaning? And would he really have stopped for fuel 5 minutes from the safe house? These plus sending him in the first place have made it too unrealistic for me now - will give it one more week but if we get any more of that then it's jumped the shark for me.

Maybe they sent Brody because the plan was to kill them both at the safe house.

I saw it as she suddenly realised what she'd done, and decided she didn't want to die.

To the people saying this week's episode was dull, I disagree. Ep2 was sheer edge-of-your-seat tension, and it would be hard to keep that level of story-telling throughout, and plus, I don't think I could go through that every week

I'm afraid I agree with those who thought it was dull and/or unbelievable this week. Partly because I don't really care much about Brody right now so it's hard to get excited about whether he gets caught or not (especially given the existance of the video and yes, if they haven't copied it then we're in Desperate Housewives levels of reality). The neck-breaking scene was class and I'm hoping to hear his explanation, which I'm imagining would be something like Louis explaining a killing to Ordell in Jackie Brown "She was totally f***ing with my nerves" "And you couldn't just hit her?" "Maybe...but at that moment....I dunno"

Which is why he didn't get to the safe house...

Agreed, but loved the clip of Carrie listening to her beloved jazz on her car radio.

I guess you're male and have seen her in something else ? I don't care for her looks at all . She's my least fav character in this .

My husband thinks it was a set up. He was also in hysterics when the tailor was fussing about with Brody in the woods...his laugh was contagious
I think the scene dragged on a bit with the tailor's 'will he, won't he' hit Brody...

If the writers wanted Brody's wife to be boring then they've succeeded - she is incredibly boring.

I'm surprised by the number of people who didn't enjoy this week's episode or, worse still, are planning to give up on the series.

Even when Homeland has a weak episode or is not so "believable", it's still so much better than anything else on tv (in my opinion)

I agree the story with the tailor was predictable and not well scripted, but I didn't think it detracted from the overall enjoyment of the episode and I liked the change in pace from last week. The quiet scene with Carrie lying on the bed waiting to die was really quite sad.

I thought, while she was lying there, that she would again remember Brody shouting "Issa" in his sleep (or she would recall something else) that would jolt her out of her suicide attempt.

Did Saul have the duplicate memory card in his attaché case because he expected it to be confiscated at the customs? Presumably it was blank and not a copy of the real one.

I'd imagine that's it. He knew he would get searched leaving the country so he put a dummy card in the place they would likely look.

The scenes I enjoyed the most in last night's episode, were the ones with Carrie and Saul, Carrie and her dad and Carrie on her own.

Estes was badly lit in the scene when he was talking to Carrie - I could hardly see his face.

I'm still suspicious of Mike.

I wonder if Brody is a double agent. He seems to be in the English accented woman's clutches, or is he just playing along?
Perhaps, it would have been better for him if he hadn't warned Abu Nazir. Was it really Brody who warned him?

Hello RP. Hope you are well?

As for the vest? That may remain an unexplained mystery. Or it may be revisited later on. We shall see. Ton and Allen might buy a storage locker and find the vest in 10 years time?

Very well, thank you, BK....and you?

I see Brody and his garden looking more like this (not the craving part, though)

I thought this as well. Brody and the Tailor would be killed at the safe house. If not then why send Brody to take him. Why not just phone the tailor and tell him to scarper. Like they did with Aileen and Raqim. Or get one of the guys who killed Raqim to do it. I can see the point of Brody doing it in the show itself. He missed the dinner and didn't make the speech. And it caused a rift with Jess. But the only logical reason for Brody to go to the tailors in the first place is get rid of both of them. That I can see anyway.

LOL

Hope Peppy doesn't set the vest off.

I'm fine by the way.

A filler of an episode. We had to wait till right till the end for the payoff that was setup in the previous episode.

I agree with both these points, and I'm astonished that there are FMs complaining the episode last night was 'dull'.

Claire Danes' performance last night was, for me, flawless. Charting her elation at having got 'back in the game', to her devastation to being told she was bascially no longer required, with all the baggage that came with it, then her struggling to work out what to do was just brilliant. I LOVED those scenes without dialogue where we saw her planning one of her destructive nights out, to overdosing, to realising she couldn't go through with it. Then, when Saul appeared with proof of everything she had been trying to tell her bosses and consequently lost her job and sacrificed her mental health because of, her tears of disbelief. Beautifully written, acted and directed.

Utterly gripping and a perfect (and much needed) antidote to the period version of Crossroads playing on ITV at the same time ...

I thought there were some great moments last night but I do agree that sending Brody to pick up the tailor was a crazy idea and I'm used to "24" style levels of crazy plot devices.

Still, it was worth it for the tension and wondering if Brody was going to get half a brick to the back of his head.

The highlight, though, was seeing poor Carrie get dressed up to go out, then slinking off upstairs to take an overdose. Heartbreaking. Still, it made it all the better to see her relief at the end when Saul showed her the tape - she was right all along.

I wonder how Saul will feel when he hears that Brody was due to attend a dinner with the VP on the evening of the day when he could have shown the video to Estes but decided to wait until he had shown it to Carrie!

well I would guess that Brodie could claim that the video was made while he was in captivity , that he was forced to do it , there wasn't anything to place a time/date when he made it was there ?

Mine too, I find her seriously annoying. Love Dana and Chris though.

This. Seeing her go through all those emotions in those few short scenes was awesome. Claire Danes seriously deserves every award they want to chuck her way!
