Apart from where it says so in the file itself.

Hmm, I doubt that. He wouldn't have had a spanking clean uniform for starters. Plus, he will have been awarded some sort of stripes/badge that wouldn't have been present on the uniform prior to his kidnap. That's my take anyway.

The video footage probably had a date/timer thingy on it for another thing. Most new cameras/camcorders have them now.

his captors could've gotten him a new uniform . the stripes/badges is a point , but I don't know if they're different .

he could argue that the date stamp was added later , that its all a set-up to discredit him etc.

Brody was a Sergeant when he was captured. When he came back he was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant.

In the video he is wearing his Gunny chevrons. So that would date the video as post return. I expect the awards on his chest would reflect this as well.

good point , there has to be something like that that will keep saul and carrie on it , but Brodie could still argue that "maybe his captors used the wrong stripes , or they knew he'd be promoted when he got back ! I dunno! godammitt ! they tortured me what do you want !!?" etc.

I doubt they'd be able to magic up a brand new US Marines uniform complete with all the relevant stripes. Especially as per barnsleykeith's post below. Also, Nazir would have no way of knowing Brody would be promoted to Gunnery Sergeant...

I think you are reading way too much into it. We know he didn't make the video whilst captured, so I'm pretty sure the CIA would be able to work that out too! I very much doubt Abu Nazir would spend his time learning all the different ranks/awards for the US military!

yeah we know , but the CIA won't want to believe it , and Brodie is gonna come up with some explanation , he's hardly gonna go "its a fair cop you got me"

The other thing that makes the video look genuine is his behaviour; it's cool, calm and collected, not what you'd expect from someone being forced to do it under duress believing that at any time, he could be killed.

There's just too much for him to be able to offer an explanation.

Exactly! He also looks healthy and well in the video, which I doubt he would do after however many months/years of capture, no matter how well they've treated him. Added to that his demeanour, there's no way he could make it stick.

I'm bored of discussing Brody's uniform now...

I've just skimmed over an article on the DS homepage, which recaps Episode 4. Have I missed something? Are DS recapping an episode we haven't seen in the UK yet??

We are up to episode 3 in the UK. The US is one ep in front of us.
Episode 3 is called ''State of Independence''

I never view anything except the DS Forum pages so can't comment on what you have read.

I believe they have published a recap of next week. Glad I didn't read it. Looks spoiler-tastic!

I felt this latest episode was dragging it out a bit. But still enjoying it.

How come it was found in the lining of the bag. I know he made a video which would seen be if he was blown up. Have I missed a vital bit.

Tailor going for a burton was a bit of a stretch

Claire Danes made up for the silliness though. I thought Saul would find Carrie and save her. But she did that herself. Danes and Patinkin are superb on screen together.

Brody left the data stick at the dead drop after he filmed the suicide video. He went back later to retrieve it, but it was gone. We didn't see what happened to it. But it's safe to say one of Nazir's men took it and sent it to the top man.

The house that Carrie went to in Beirut was Abu Nazir's. He lived there with his wife.

She had a way of walking that was just .................

Very desirable, much like Servalan in "Blakes Seven"

Yes that's right. So either the bag belonged to Fatima's husband - Abbas. Or it was Abu Nazir's bag and it got to the house somehow?

Don't think Abu Nasir himself would be carrying a bag and we have no evidence to say he was staying with Fatima and husband ? She told Carrie her husband was meeting AN didn't she ?
