Hi Allie, yes I know what you mean regarding his lisp.
I'm also having trouble understanding Carrie and Saul. They're mumbling a lot.
Think I'll put subtitles on next week. (my ears are fine, I think)

Generally, a good episode, I thought. Didn't expect Brody to get arrested so early on in the series.

The ending kind of concerns me (and kind of doesn't), cos it proves the show has balls and is willing to do something completely unexpected and dangerous, but at the same time I'm wondering if it was a step too far, and that the show won't be as good now they've cleared the initial concept up

I think this show skirts around the issue too much.

what it lacks is constant action. there should be a scene where brody blows away the smug vice-president with a sawn-off shotgun. "how do you feel about this, you smug drone-abusing bitch!"

or maybe carrie torturing estes with a blow-torch and some pliers. "you didn't believe me over brody? well suck on this!"

Lola totally agree with you... I would hate it if it went down the double double double route....

Must say that I would have really preferred they gave another episode for Carrie and Brody to....share the same frame.... we waited long enough

Claire Danes was unbelievable in this episode, and has been in every episode so far actually. - she deserves every award going in my book.

Really? I always felt there were more. They didn't seem to get in the way so much tonight.

No, that's what I think the show does well, it doesn't rely on gratuitous violence or sex. It uses them sparingly for important plot devices and characterization tools. If you want to watch naked people fighting each other in over the top bloody fashion may I suggest Spartacus?

Was Brody about to cry at the end when he was talking to Carrie? His eyes were very red.

great great series. only show i've seen that i'd put on a par or even better would be the sopranos.

Indeed! I feel sorry for the member who said she would be best to stop watching because Carrie irritated her .
I think she would have seen a very calm Carrie tonight .

really? you must read my mind
What I would have really liked to see is Brody and Carrie going back to the cabin ... something that doesnt look happening any time soon based on tonight episode, would not you agree to that?

Why does Nicholas Brody's wife address him by his surname?

I just added an edit to my post to you which was "why post that link?"
No I wouldn't have liked to have seen Brody and Carrie going back to the cabin ! I'm not a sentimentalist !

everybody calls him Brody apart from Nazir who calls him Nicholas, I think this is a very nice touch by the writers. It is like Nazir is the only person who aknowledge him as a real human been

so there you go, you cannt read my mind, therefore you cannot guest why I do not like what I saw nor what I could refer to in the slight. Hey just dont look for the clip

To be honest I did not look for spoilers on you tube, that clip just appears at the end of a very legit SHOtime promo, pushed by youtube, I wan not even sure it was from season 2 on first viewing and I had to check to make sure.

I'm really surprised by that ending!

I thought (hoped) they would have got some more mileage out of the Brody surveillance setup and his relationship with Carrie. The scenes between Brody and Carrie (when they are friends) have been some of the best.

But I have confidence that the writers know what they are doing.

Shame they used quite so much time on the teen scenes. They don't add anything to the story at the moment.

I think the producers are slowly building up to something. I think the pair might have sex, and then Dana will tell Brody and it will lead to a big discovery/incident...

i thought with the teens nazir would kidnap the boy (in retaliation for his own son dying) and they'd grab the daughter too as she was with him - brody would then have a real dilemma on his hands. they're obv not going this way though if the cia are on to him

there are several places they can go now.

brody could say he was a double agent (shame we've seen the only reason he didnt blow himself up was a faulty bomb - they could have spun this out with the audience not knowing the truth too)

they could debrainwash him seeing as he is so close to nazir and use him as a double agent

the mole could help him and say he was working for him as a double agent etc

The reason he didn't blow himself up was that his daughter called him and he had a change of heart.

He pressed the switch before that but it was faulty. Second time, after he fixed it, he was talked (indirectly of course) out of it by Dana.

Season 1 had sex scenes weren't really needed and just there to bump up the rating.

This weeks episode took the meaning of slow burning drama to a whole new level and the teen age love story was just time filling between the Brody scenes.

Unless they have something planned for his family they may was just write them out the show so it can regain it's focus as it doesn't need to be Days of Our Lives with a traitor in the mist.
