Surely the hotel security people and bar staff would recognise Congressman Brody and wonder why the CIA wanted tape of him...
And as has been pointed out, someone being bundled out of the place with a black bag over their head might not have gone unnoticed either! But generally I love this show for subverting expectations, cutting teasers short, just being shocking. I gasped out loud at the scene in the forest, where Brody broke The Tailor's neck for being audible during his phonecall with Jess. |

Because the Hamas leader was in cahoots with Nazir. I don't think there is anything odd about him having a copy* of the tape.
*Or indeed the original memorycard, if that is what it was. Generally, the viewers have not been let in on the machinations of Nazir's operations or network, so I wouldn't assume anything is a 'coincidence', just because we see little of that side of things. She could have smuggled the card out. |

It's my theory as to why they can have Brody arrested now. The 'real' bad guy is still out there. The look on Mike's face told me... "Lauder knows too much he has to go..." |

I don't suppose it is uncommon to up surveillance for a member of government's own protection. The black bag was a bit wierd; presumably they will be bundling Brody out a back staircase/fire exit and hope no one sees

I wasn't sure what happened at the end. Once Saul and the other guy told Carrie to get out, did they really mean it? When she went up to Brody's room at the end was she basically ad-libbing and doing what she thought was right rather than what was part of the CIA plan? That's what I had thought but then when the agents burst in and arrested Brody I was confused...was the plan to arrest him all along or had Carrie forced their hands?
I don't think they'd be going down the Dana love-scenario without it being important to the plot. It seems like such a weak story to be just a filler. I may be eating my words! I think they are going to play on the friction between the VP and Dana. First she 'burns him' with his remark and then when the VP finds out about Brodie, do you think he will want his son hanging around with the daughter of a terrorist? I don't think so. They could play on Dana's resentment towards the the VP. |

Carrie thought she had been 'made' by Brodie. Afterall she was making out she was 'fixed' after her treatment, but her reaction to his questioning of this treatment was emotional. She was worried this is what Brodie would think she is onto him. Rather than let Brodie disappear she forced the CIA's hands by confronting him. All along the CIA wanted to play on Brodie's 'achilies heal', their relationship. But this was only to gather intelligence amd make opportunities.

Oh please no more Dana, she's a waste of space in this programme!
I'm not interested in some silly bloody teen romance either. She is hardly a waste of space either, she single handedly stopped Brody detonating his suicide bomb! |

Was there a significance in Brodie knowing Carrie had had ECT? She seemed surprised he knew, did the VP tell him or is that where the mole comes in?

But it has got to be significant.

Maybe that's why the female journalist was introduced into the show - the one working as a go-between for Nazir.
She could have smuggled the card out. Quote:
The bad guy could be Mike. I've a feeling he's going to bump Lauder off pretty soon.
The look on Mike's face told me... "Lauder knows too much he has to go..." I read Mike's expression as "Hmm, interesting. Lauder may be on to something. I wonder if the store will still be open by the time I drop him home; the fridge is empty", but then again my perception of him as bland might account for my interpretation. Quote:
The black bag is so Brody doesn't know where he's being taken. I'm assuming their best option now since Carrie blew the op wide open, is to try and turn him back.
2. Why would they need to keep the destination from Brody anyway? I think I prefer other people's reasoning, i.e. the CIA didn't want the prisoner to be identified. That seems more logical. But the reason I said it was 'wierd' was because it came across as done entirely for affect, which effectively broke the fourth wall. At any rate, whichever theory you apply (or not in my case), it isn't really important. I was just having a little poke at the show. |

Dana is showing signs of potentially becoming Nazir's newest recruit. Is that where the storyline is going?

She is hardly a waste of space either, she single handedly stopped Brody detonating his suicide bomb! Okay, maybe I worded that badly. I find her character really annoying and I don't think she's a very good actress - when she speaks she doesn't seem to move he mouth and looks like she needs a good shake! She's actually spoiling Homeland a bit for me

so there you go, you cannt read my mind, therefore you cannot guest why I do not like what I saw nor what I could refer to in the slight. Hey just dont look for the clip
To be honest I did not look for spoilers on you tube, that clip just appears at the end of a very legit SHOtime promo, pushed by youtube, I wan not even sure it was from season 2 on first viewing and I had to check to make sure. |

The meeting between the leader and Nazir was significant so I don't think it makes sense the Nazir's organisation would have just handed it over to Hamas.
As you say we don't know how the organisations work in relation to each other so I'm still hoping for an explanation. I think she is an excellent character and she reflects what the viewer should be wrestling with in terms of the themes of the show. She has a more neutral view of things whereas Jessica just flew off the handle at the suggestion of Brody being muslim. As for hoping for an explanation, you may be waiting forever. I remember being very unhappy over the whole Aileen scenario that never seem to be resolved to viewer satisfaction last season. I agree with you about Dana though. I like her character and the actress playing her is doing an excellent job

From the point of view of there being an alliance between Nazir and the Hamas leader, I don't see any lack of logic for the Hamas leader to have a copy of Brody's suicide tape. As you intimated yourself, the fact Nazir risked coming into the open to meet with this man, shows us how important he was to Nazir and his organisation, in which case the fact he had a copy of Brody's tape corresponds with that, don't you think?

That youtube clip was not a spoiler. it was shown at the end of the episode yesterday...as they do at the end of every episode when they show what happens next. some people are just too tetchy about their own enjoyment that they dont want others to enjoy it discussing the show.

Please note, this is a NO SPOILER thread. What part of this do people not understand? No spoilers includes spoiler tags. If spoiler tags was allowed the thread title would say so.
No spoilers means NO SPOILERS. At all. From the DS faq page about spoilers You may encase your post in tags where appropriate. There you go. |

so you are in a minority then. This thread discusses the episodes in UK pace. In the Uk they also show the quick summary of next weeks episode. It is up for discussion as it has been aired in the UK.

Dont make up the DS rules to suit you.
From the DS faq page about spoilers You may encase your post in tags where appropriate. There you go. No spoilers! means just that. No spoilers allowed even if they are in tags. It's inappropriate. If the thread title said .....spoilers in tags then tagging would be appropriate. Mr Super is the OP. He is quite in order to clarify the exact meaning of the thread title. |
