I don't really understand C4s 'hero or villain' twitter ploy. Unless the flashbacks are completely false, it's pretty obvious he's a villain isn't it?

Has anyone seen that show Life Damian Lewis was in years ago? I believe it only lasted 2 seasons and was axed but heard Damian Lewis was pretty good in that also. Was the show any good?

I disagree, and I think you are the first person to say that (that I have seen anyway). Damian Lewis keeps getting roles playing Americans (this is his third one now) because his American accent is perfect. And that is three jobs in AMERICAN productions, intended for American audiences, so it is not like he is being hired by Brits who can't detect a bad American accent when they hear it.

Ah, I see. The source of my confusion is that in your earlier post the ONLY thing you quoted from that other person was a bit saying he/she wished the "main character" was Jack Bauer, without specifying Brody or Carrie. Honestly, it never occurred to me that anybody would think Brody is the main character. I have always seen the main character as Carrie. At most, I will grant that the two characters are equally important.

Highly recommend....and not just for Damian... Sarah Shahi is very good.

I am getting a little bored of people who have seen the whole season posting how things get more ridiculous, more exciting etc as the series goes on. If you have seen the whole season by all means come and discuss the latest episode shown on channel 4, but stop mentioning future episodes.

I'm loving it but then I adore Damien Lewis and think his performance is so much more multi-layered than Claire Danes who is just permanently on the verge of hysteria. I do wish they had nailed some of the silly bits, though. Any soldier coming home from such an experience would be in counselling and de-briefing for months, not just left to get on with things. And when he came home, they were able to bug his house because apparently there wasn't a single televison camera there - ridiculous. But still about the best thing on at the moment

Brody having any counselling in future episodes it will look implausible, especailly since his wife knows he's not in the best of mental health. |

Huh? What do you define as an American accent? Come to that, what do you define as a British accent? Someone who talks like they come from Devon or Newcastle-on-Tyne?

I wish people would enjoy the programme instead of just moaning all the time. Thank god there's something decent to watch on tv is all i can say because if it wasn't for Homeland and True Blood my Sunday night would be extremely boring!

I am loving Mandy Patinkin in this. Chicago Hope is one of my all time favourites and he was awesome in that.

I liked Chicago Hope, too, and Mandy Patinkin, but please, for the love of God, don't let him start singing in this one. Anyone who's heard him singing will know what I mean. (Although he actually does concerts; it defies all explanation.)

I'm enjoying this so far - it feels quite tense and I like Brody for some reason - must be that vicious neck prod move perhaps! I want him to find out about his wife and Mike too... Not sure what that says about me! But I'm looking forward to next week's episode - I think that 'asset' Lynne is doomed though, loved her first scene with the 'job interviews' but I don't think she'll last too long now .http://www.tv-ooh.com/2012/02/homela...trust-and.html

I see a lot of Brits making this comment, or something similar. And you know what else I see other Brits saying? That the show is DRAGGING as it is. So what do people want? Sure, we could have spent six episodes with Brody being counselled and closely monitored in a controlled environment, but that is not a show anybody wants to see, even the people making the complaint you make, I suspect. A dramatist is perfectly entitled to play around with time or abridge real-world procedures for the sake of getting on with the story he wants to tell and that he presumes the audience has signed on to watch.

I absolutely love it. This show is produced by the same guy that produced 24...Am I right? I swear I read that somewhere. 24 was this high-octaine, fast paced drama series. With Homeland, whilst it will also have similarities of becoming very intense & fast paced at times, it allows you to understand the psychological aspects of each individual character. It will also allow the viewer to be drawn into the behavioural emotions & the political aspects . The show is already very thought-provoking & as the story develops, it will be really interesting to understand why Brody has chosen the path he has. The ending of episode 2 was very poignant to me. Very interested to see how it unfolds. Great drama. |

Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa. They both worked on 24, with Gordon later becoming the showrunner. Their big break probably came as a writing team on The X Files.

The reason lots of 'brits' as you put it are commenting is because its just being shown over here.
And what it wrong with the word "Brits?" That seemed to rub you the wrong way. It isn't pejorative. It is just short for "Briton," and I have noted that even Brits use "Brits" most of the time, instead of using "Briton," possibly because when spoken it is easily confused with the place name "Britain." I have always thought the pejorative nick-name for a Brit -- or at least an Englishman -- is "Limey." Quote:
... what is the colloquial word for Canadian?
"Canuck"

Media hype in anticipation would be enormous and his house would have been staked out for days, not just the minute he arrived home. There is no way the electronics people could have got in undetected and then melted away thirty seconds before he arrived.
