I feel a bit sorry for the makers of Homeland as it appears they can't win. when they have a plot heavy episode full of twists and turns, they are accused of being too much like 24 and moving too quickly. Yet when they do slower episodes they are accused of being 'fillers'!

I think the quality has held up pretty well so far in Season 2. its worth remembering that Season 1 was a little inconsistent at times as well.

Sorry if it's already been mentioned, but there's no way Brody should have been swimming with that hand injury - the dressing needs to be kept DRY.

If such criticisms are catered for, we'll be back to the usual format of hyping up the action to satisfy those with attention deficit issues. The Wire was seen by many as revolutionary for a reason. Whether justified or not in that claim, it did shake up episodic TV (particularly US) and show what could be done by not rushing.

Yeah, it's not perfect and sometimes the show does end up with inconsistencies and need for some suspension of disbelief, but it's heads above most other fare out there at the moment and very enjoyable.

Does anyone know how far the US is ahead of C4 in showing Homeland? Is it just one week? I want to avoid spoilers but I'd like to read some of the American commentary on the series but I'm not 100% clear on where they are up to over there.

There's a few hours' window after the UK showing, before the US showing of the next episode.

If being banged up in whatever they use for Gitmo these days is "getting out of the sorry mess", then yes. If he becomes less important to the CIA before helping them unravel the plot he'll be back in a deep dark hole...or potentially I guess on death row.

I've always imagined that would be the way Hillary Clinton would react.

The wire was a very different beast. It had maybe 4 or 5 strands of stories which progressed and sometimes intwined to a greater or lesser degree.

Homeland has only 1 storyline in progress, so its very different.

Just caught up with Sundays episode. Have I missed something, how did Carrie learn of Dana's hit and run? We saw Dana telling the Vice-Pres and wife, but how did Carrie find out? I assume from Estes cos we saw him calling Carrie, but how did he know? Did Walden or his wife tell him?

Of course The Wire was different and I wasn't arguing that it was the same. My point was that The Wire showed that a slower pace could pay dividends.

The VP and his wife/people told Estes. This was mentioned briefly.

Watching ep7 through again .
Jess asks Brody if he killed Tom ? Cue Twin Peaks type music[interesting that I didn't make anything of this first time round ...or maybe nothing to it ] while Brody pulls a few choice faces before answering , says he had a hand in it ,that the CIA knew they [he and Tom ] were close and so they used him to get to Tom....and it got messy ... Tom lost his way and "I had a hand in stopping him" .
Jess responds with a hands up to the mouth gesture while Brody pulls an amazing face , tongue in cheek turning to one side to look out of the car window as in hope you swallowed that one babe

I wonder if they would have been so bothered if it had been quieter sex?
