One of the best lines of the entire season:

"So, you are a religious man and a torturer. What are you, a Catholic?"

I had a wry little chuckle over that too!

Nah, they don't do torture.

Does anyone know what he was saying as Brody left the room?

I was wondering about that. Surely they should have taken more notice? Get it translated?
Pffft - we ought to join the CIA!!!

I agree - they're way way too short. I find I'm only starting to get into my stride when they suddenly end!
With the Danish thriller The Killing we had long eps which totally engrossed you and moved you on with the characters/storyline.
This is a fascinating series though... loving it!

Me too. I'm really enjoying it - brilliant acting and the story is developing nicely.

So - do you think it was Brody or was his visit just a coincidence? Could it be Martin using Brody's visit as cover? He was the one who pulled Hamid (?) off when they were fighting wasn't he? So he could have slipped Hamid the blade during the furore whilst the other guy was busy calming Brody down.......

A really, really strong episode of Homeland tonight and for once it isn't wasn't about Brody's state of mind. I think it's pretty clear it was Brody who slipped Affie the razorblade which led him to commit suicide (i hope at least), but why? Affie had already given Carrie the email address which led to Faisal the college tutor. I'm guessing Affie didn't expect to meet Brody and meeting him changed everything and maybe that's why he decided he had to die, but for what? You also have to factor in he tortured Brody, it's all so confusing! Lol. The scene where they showed the 'torture' of Affie, was interesting. I don't know how long i would last with all that going on! It's all about connecting the dots with this show, it's so gripping!

Felt sorry for Saul at the end. You can tell he wants normal life with someone share that with but his job keeps on getting in the way. Both Damian and Claire were brilliant tonight! I hope Carrie doesn't quit.

I really dislike Jess with her shorter hair, anyone agree? She looks much hotter with it longer! Lol.

Possibly. I don't like Martin at all. He keeps smoothing down his tie - that looks suspicious (like people who touch their ear lobe when they're lying).

I really don't know! I'm definitely starting to suspect someone in the CIA of being the traitor who was 'turned' - possibly even Saul?? I think Brody's too easy and obvious a suspect!

I'm not so sure. Estes could have left the razorblade anywhere in the room during the commotion too.

Brody could have put the razor blade in the food box - but after seeing the clip of Estes standing over the table I thought he could have done it too.

After a re-watch there's a little continuity error in the ep - when Brody & Affie get at each other the food container is all over the floor, then when Carrie's showing the clip of Estes standing over the table later, the food container's miraculously returned to the corner of the table

the look on Affie's face when Brody comes into the room - was that fear?

but was it because his prisoner was now face to face with him?

or fear for Brody being turned against him and the plot?

Great ep, really enjoying this series.

Am sure in real life Estes would never in a million years have allowed Brody in the same room as Affie. We know there is a mole somewhere (as someone tipped off the professor's wife he was being followed last week) - could it be Estes? Seems a bit unlikely, Saul would be my top guess for the mole at the moment. Eg Saul could have tipped Brody there was no camera in the garage, and also he is controlling exactly what Carrie is and isn't looking into. Plus his Arabic and Asian links.

Well if Estes didn't slip the razor blade in there - it had to be Brody. It had to be one of them.

Unlikely or not, Estes is top of my list for being moley but Saul's not that far behind him. Is Brody working with either of them or not though?

Sitting on the fence is giving me splinters.

Surely we're missing a trick here and it's SAUL who is the mole?

Estes for me, on a flip of a coin.

Saul could just as easily have left a razor blade when he left Affie the crayon and paper. But he also made the connection between the necklace and the money - which led the CIA to the airport couple. Odd thing to do if he wanted them to stay under wraps.

And why would he press so hard for Affie to give up the email address too?

Remembering that this series is a re-make of an Israeli production, the image of a Jewish ex-hostage soldier converting to Islam would have been very shocking in Israel.

Of course that does not mean for certain that he has also become a terrorist; as others have said the fact that we are not sure that we know the truth about the central characters - indeed just about any of the male characters could turn out to be a "bad guy" - is one of the best things about this series.

Or fear because he knew that he might have to give up Brody and "The Plan"...

So many options...

Saul, Carrie, the black woman and the guy who broke up the fight were also in there.

Personally, I'm ruling Carrie out...
