I don't think Brody is that bothered personally about Jessica having an affair with Mike, but he is bothered about other people knowing about the affair - because that dents his pride. I think that Carrie may be one of those women with a male view of sex, ie can separate sex from love.
He should of had the fight in Private.....

I asked about this earlier on in the thread. Could he be devout and do these things to maintain some sort of cover, if he has been turned. Being a double agent you have to blend in. Or does he pray like a Muslim does because he likes to do it that way? I suppose either could be possible.
I think that if he is a double agent then prehaps he has to do certian things to blend in and not get his cover blown.

I have flashbacks of the film Arlington Road when I watch this. I wonder if Carrie is being set up like the Jeff Bridges character

Oh yeah. You just know that polygraph question about illegal drugs is going to come back and bite her in the arse.

EDIT to add: I've never seen Arlington Road though...

Great Film (IMHO) with Jeff Bridges and Tim Robbins...has a very un-Hollywood like ending.

If he was a devout Muslim, would he drink Bourbon and have sex in the car with Carrie, though?
Devout anythings have a habit of breaking the rules. Othewise (as an off-the-top of my head example) devout Catholics wouldn't need confession.

If he's a terrorist, he and his masters may view stuff like
drinking alcohol and eating pork as necessary evils to deflect suspicion from him.

Good point. As we've seen he prays, so drinking alcohol and having random sex really isn't the part of the equation. I suspect the praying might just be a peace of mind situation and not necessarily him becoming a Muslim. We've only ever seen him praying first thing in the morning before everyone else is awake.

Some of the 911 terrorists bought pornography, sex toys and alcohol in the days before the attack. They knew that giving their lives for their faith would bring them pardon for their sins, guarantee them paradise, and the company of 72 virgins. So why not enjoy your last days on earth?

Yeah but the 9/11 ******* went on to kill thousands of people - that isn't a very Islamic thing to do! Like all Islamic fanatics, their 'faith' is completely warped and false and has very skewed ties to actual Islam, therefore any other 'blasphemous' behaviour a Islamist (or Brody for that matter) is really inconsequential.

What is with the discussion about someone having to be a mole? I don't get it. As far as I'm concerned, Saul, Estes et al are clean. Carrie is too deep in to investigating Brody and dealing with her own issues to be involved in an elaborate terrorist plot. The mystery woman is curious because we know little about her. Brody is consistently lying, keeping up the pretence of being a family man etc. He knows a heck of a lot more than we know, but he isn't necessarily a bad guy.

I would be disappointed if one of the prominent CIA agents were a mole. It would be too predictable. I hated that pretty much every series of 24 had a mile within CTU - it's just too much of a stretch. I don't think Homeland will go down that route.

I have absolutely no idea what's going to happen next. I get the feeling that Brody and Carrie will be somewhat of a team (and not rivals) though, sooner rather than later.

Aileen got a call telling her Raquim was being followed. So he drove past the house and went for a meal. That's where the mole talk comes from. We are assuming someone in the CIA tipped them off. I've no idea who the mole is, if there is one.

PS
Personally I'm a molist(molester just doesn't work)

The medication she takes is legal I presume by illegal drugs they would mean canabis etc.

If that is the case then they probably already know as she choose not lie about it.

If they already knew about it, she would be getting it prescribed by her doctor - she gets her sister to get it for her so that there will be no record of her having it prescribed.

The question they asked was about illegal drugs and regardless of she gets the meds they are still legal, just they aren't meant for her.

If they had asked if she takes any prescribed medication they don't know about she would have been found out.

The agent could have asked if she has any undeclared medical conditions would have been trouble for her also as the CIA don't about it

I totally agree, of course. I suppose I assumed that people would realise that I was being a bit ironic in my post. I think that the 7/7 bombers also did "un-Islamic" things before they killed innocent people - of course some would say that killing innocent people is about the most un-Islamic thing you can do.

My point is that the writers are not necessarily giving us evidence that Brody has not become an islamist terrorist when they show him drinking and having casual sex.

Any company that has a zero tolerance of drug abuse, and used polygraph testing, would look further into her polygraph results. She spiked when asked about illegal drugs. She would be asked in for a follow up test. And the drugs question would be explored further with all sorts of questions. So it will be interesting to see if this happens on Homeland. Or maybe it will be forgotten about?

Agree with that.....I for one haven't completely ruled Carrie out.....do we know what exactly the "mistake" was that she made when in (?) Iraq...and was it a mistake and what I can not for the life of me understand is why she named her source/informant.....of course on the other hand it could be that she did indeed make a costly mistake and could explain her over-zelous and obssessive behaviour to get things 'right' this time.
I think the "mistake" she is referring to is to do with 9/11, Saul says something to her, to the effect of "we all made mistakes that day" and I think there was some reference to ten years ago, which would fit the timeline for 9/11. The inference at the time was that the CIA had some sort of intelligence that could have prevented the events of that day.
Sorry if I sound like a conspiracy theorist, I'm not just trying to read between the plot-lines.
I hope this makes some sense to some people

I can't remember which episode the 'missed something'' scene was in. But the conversation is repeated in the opening montage at the start of every ep.

Carrie-I missed something once before. I won't, I can't let that happen again

Saul-That was ten years ago. Everyone missed something on that day

Carrie- Everyone's not me.
Sorry, I didn't get as far as this post before I added my previous reply
