Awesome series. Loving it.

Here's what I noticed in this week's ep - it's a production thing. During the main setpiece where Carrie charges off into the commander's house, did anything notice anything unusual about the whole thing? Here's what it was...

No music.

On practically any other drama there'd be a bunch of tense percussion plastered over it all. It heightened the tension far more to have it played in near-silence. Love the use - and absence - of music in this series, helps elevate it (well, along with cast, script, direction etc...)

Anyone else puzzled by Carrie's very abrupt reversion to blonde after dying her hair for the meeting with Fatima? Or did I miss something?
Yes, I was confused! I take it that it was a wig - so why did she tell Fatima it was dyed? It just made no sense.

Anyway, love this show and just finished watching last night's episode. Awesome cliffhanger!!

Will they try to use the taped video to convert Brody? Say to him ..Your text saved Abu Nazir and this is what he gave us in return'. This way they can break the ring.

Carrie didn't say she dyed her hair. Fatima said "You dyed your hair" and Carrie just didn't bother to correct her.

I just hope it does not fall off like the last seasons show did

Eh what
Last seasons show ended up gettng more and more ridiculous such as the underground bunker scene which in reality would be one of the most secure places on Planet Earth

this season it has started really well and hope it does not descend like it did last year
is that clear enough EH!!!

Have to disagree with you there.

I thought they pulled that one off rather well.

Just caught up on episode 2 last night and I'm really enjoying this series so far. Great cliffhanger, and I had to resist "acquiring" the US broadcast of episode 3 to find out what happens

I thought they were going to manage to kill Nazir, leaving Brody needing to re-prove himself to this new woman and her/Nazir's family as a result of not giving a warning.

I'm still unsure about Saul. It just seems to obvious in a non-obvious kind of way, if that makes sense!

The whole point of the bunker is that it WAS supposed to be one of the most secure places, which turns against you if it is attacked from within, from shelter to tomb. And attacking from within is the entire premise of the series. Their device to get them into the shelter was well executed too - that's where you go in an emergency, so create an emergency. Perfect. So, er, no problem there then, and the opposite of a tail off. A tail up, if you will.

Well, at least we agree this series has started well...

We only saw the beginning of Brody's suicide video at the end of ep 2. Just watched the whole thing again - it's at the start of episode 12 Season 1. There is no ambiguity in what he recorded. He clearly says some people will say he was broken and brain washed whilst in captivity. And that's the reason he turned traitor and became a terrorist. Taught to hate his country. But he then says why he did what he did. He loved his country. As a Marine he swore to protect the USA against enemies both foreign and domestic. His actions today, he says, are against such domestic enemies. He then tells how the VP and members of his National Security team murdered the schoolkids. Because they are liars and war criminals who were never held accountable for their actions, that makes them legitimate targets.

Saul has no idea what Brody was planning of course(assuming Saul is not the mole working for Abu Nazir - guess we will find out when we see what he does with the video). I think Saul will link Brody and Walker and assume they were working together. Brody's drunken brother in arms has worked out that Walker didn't miss the VP. He shot Gaines deliberately. So between them they have the answer to what was supposed to happen that day. But Saul may never get to meet Brody's mate. If he continues to mouth of he will become a liability. And will need to be silenced.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Everything hangs on what Saul is going to do now.

I couldn't remember exactly what Brody said in the video either - so went back to check

Lauder Wakefield worked out that Walker didn't miss the shot on the VP. Maybe Saul will work that out himself - assuming he takes the matter further. LOL if he goes to Carrie with all this. That will totally fry her brain.

Episode 2 is repeated tonight on Ch4 & 4HD. And episode 3 gets a repeat next Tuesday as well. Handy for people who want to watch it in HD but have a busy schedule on Sunday.

The secure bunker was so brody could 'take out' most of the top level people ..
My question is , how did he get out with the vest through the dedectors once the 'threat' was over

Presumably there's only detectors for you going in, just like an airport -- you only pass through security before boarding a plane, not after you've got off.

Do we still have to go over the season finale and dissect every minute detail? Aren't we past that now? We're on to the 2nd season now, just get over it and move on.

No problems for me - yet!!!

I was getting a little worried with episode 2 though. I FFWD and it got to 6mins before the episode started. Didn't miss the end thankfully.

I have a Sky HD box with start and end set to Auto.

Hello everyone.

I'm hooked again after watching the second episode.

When Saul found the film in the bag, I thought it was the razor blade at first.
I vaguely remember from last season, that the bag which Brody hid in the park(?) was supposed to have been picked up by Walker, before Brody shot him....but I'm not sure now.
So who picked it up?

Clare /Carrie is still brilliant. I enjoy her scenes with Saul.

Uncle Mike's back.

Actually, no. Was it just the film that Brody hid amongst some rocks in the park? I honestly can't remember.

It was just the little film disc that he hid in the rocks, no bag.
The scene with Brody texting in the safe room in the Pentagon was very badly researched.
No mobile phones are allowed on CIA premises or in the Pentagon for security reasons.
