BIB - That's because it was a floating headbanger, they said that a few times...

It is possible. I'm Catholic and I was born out of wedlock and christened! It's not how like they portray it in the films
Given that Riley's surname is Costello, think that does rather suggest they might be Catholic too!?

Yes, but it had 'headbanger' still in the name of the lift. And lets face it, all headbangers are 'floating' because if her head was to hit the ice, the has gone gone wrong.

Very strong final for DOI, no idea who's going to win it. I think for the first time, there is no clear winner.

ermmm, okay. How does a surname indicate the religous status of someone? Genuinly confused by your comment.

I can't believe that Jorgie again has low marks, they are still high, but not as high as they should have been in both of her skates! In the skills test she was so fast, she finished well before the others did, she stood there waiting for the music to finish

Well Reo, I think you just answered your own question, she was too fast and stood waitiing

And I take it this is the start of the Jacqui/Pheobe storyline, didn't know Pheobe had a phone either. I wonder how she bought it, affords to kepp it going and charged.

I found it odd that considering the George reunion at the end of the previous episode wasn't even mentioned or followed up in the episode. It wasn't like it was a big deal or anything.....
BIB I couldn't give a monkey's either and it was a dull episode, it is well documented that I have this thing about George & Phoebe having not just any mobile phones per se but top of the range phones

Has she got a new job? Or are there just some outstanding clients from Cinergy who've they determined to cater for? Though you think they'd be cancelled, unless they're outstanding to pay off some of Cindy's debt....I don't know.
We could assume Carmel's gone in to self-employment, but then she wouldn't have been complaining about home visits

Another thought is it could be part of her laywork, but I don't know why she'd wear a revealing uniform for that.
I wondered that as well, it was pretty random

On Bex, no prizes for guessing who inspired Daisy Turner. Was bizarre to see Stacey leave the square, die her hair blonde and head north. Having said that, the actor certainly had on-screen presence and good chemistry with PJ.
BIB she only shop lifts from Price Slice she doesn't work there and she has only been there on one occasion that we know of

I'll agree with you that Doug's obsession with Bex did get annoying, and I can kind of see where you're coming from when he was hanging out with Ethan (cos hey, it just meant Ethan was on-screen more), but I'm afraid I'm going to disagree with you about his friendship with Riley. To me, their friendship seems very genuine, and I was surprised to hear a couple of people recently saying it seems forced, which I don't think it is in the slightest. I also note that generally last year people were positive about the two being friends.

That's not to say what you're saying is wrong though, everyone has their own view of these things

Speed in skating is not a bad thing, I don't know how many comments from the judges I have heard over the years that have mentioned that the person needs to gain speed, she also did what she was required to do and her spin was the best of the four.

Meanwhile Matt nearly caused a injury to his partner and got a 9.5! I expected to see blood on her arm.

I didn't see any of DOI last night so I can't comment on that but a true headbanger does involve the partners head "bouncing" close to the ice, hint the alternative name of the bounce spin. I've never heard of a "floating headbanger" though - what's that?

DOI is never judged completely fairly. They tend to forget that it is not about the choreography, it's not freestyle figure skating. It's actually supposed to be set skating, they are given a routine and the marks are for how well they preform that routine not the content of it since that's out of their control - last week illustrated that problem clearly. Also the judges and ITV always have their own favourites anyway

don't have much to say about HO in general at the moment, nothings really happening

Because there are generally surnames most of which are of a certain religion e.g. Cohen is generally seen as a predominantly Jewish. The poster was maybe thinking of John A. Costello who was Roman Catholic.

Also Costello sounds Italian, and Italians are mostly Catholic.

It still doesn't indicate religion though. There might be referred to as 'traditional' Catholic, Jewish or religious names, but that doesn't mean that, that individual is of that religion.

It really does baffle me that by having a certain surname apparently indicates religious beliefs of that person.

Jorgie's routine from last night - "floating" headbanger at 1.25.

headbanger from previous series at 3.39.

All "headbangers" are floating as if the girls head hit the ice, it wouldn't be floating and tghe lift would've gone drastically wrong. Jorgie's headbanger was missing the banger part, but she did go into and come out of the lift as the pros do.

Agreed about the judging too, this years has had some bizarre marking.

Agreed about Hollyoaks too, not entirely sure why I'm still watching. Probably just habbit and it's only on in the background now. It extremily rare now that it gets my full attention.

I see, brill, thanks for the link

Jorgie really is flawless, she just preforms it all so well. It was missing the, and there's no other wording I can think off, "banging" part of it but everything else was perfect for a headbanger. I saw Matt E tweet about it so I was expecting a good performance and it was, what did she score?

regarding HO, I'm just waiting for something to happen but it never does....

There are some surnames (just like forenames) which are linked to a particular religion, so a surname can be a clue. For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish_surnames

Costello is of Irish origin I think, but that too is a largely Catholic country.

Jacqui's line of "what's going on?" was the only half entertaining thing in this episode.

Omni, I don't think I'm ever going to understand the apparent correlation between someone's name and their religous beliefs, especially considering religous views and beliefs can change throughout your life.

How come no-one hears a door opening, but always hears it closing?

Nobody is saying that there is a direct correlation but your surname often indicates which religion comes from your heritage even if you don't personally follow the beliefs

Riley looks like a giant! Is it the camera angle?

It's great to see Phoebe's storyline, but I think we should be seeing this next week and this week should have focused on George and his family, let us see those emotional scenes and hopefully deal with plot holes, then get to Phoebe's story.

Myra's court suit!
