Couldn't George have made a run for it?

Surely that bloke who was with Deena last time must be there as well, Deena does a good evil smile but I'm pretty sure she couldn't drag him kicking and screaming back to the house.
Unless she has a gun or something I suppose. |

Yeah, George could've made a run for it, or indeed called the police and everything would've been solved as realistically as possible, and yes this is what most people would do in real life. However, if this happened here in HO, I bet everyone would complain that it would have been too easy an escape and, quite frankly, too boring rather than complaining about the unrealism of how the story is playing out now

She would have to give them warning but yes, exactly the same as Riley would have to give notice to Jack & co

At Price Slice. Frankie may have sacked him but I don't remember seeing it/hearing about it.
Nancy can retaliate if Riley kicks 'em out of the Dog. They'd still struggle to pay the rent though, that's why they rejoined the Osbourne flock in the first place. Good episode, setting things in motion with the plot devices to get George alone and into the woods. FB filler with Maddie was pretty silly though...and I've had my fill of Mercy moping around at Chez McQueen. |

As Riley is only staying with Mitzeee for a bit, Nancy can't really do anything to get him out, apart from evicting Mitzeee (I think anyway). If Riley does sell up, Nancy could just ask Mitzeee to move anyway, so Nancy, Darren and Charlie wouldn't be in dire straits anyway. Jack, Frankie, Ruby and Esther is different matter though. |

Yeah I remember Frankie gave George a few days off after he's outburst but he was never sacked as far as we were aware!

Just a thought, the old Osbourne house has nmow been sold to the Kanes right? So therefore, whoever sold it, presumably Jack and Frankie will have that money from the sale, meaning they could afford the deposit on the pub and buy it from the Costellos.
Their situation really isn't bad, it's actually an improved. Instead of renting the pub from the Costellos, Jack and Frankie can buy it from them and if Darren and Nancy need/want extra space for when the baby comes along, they can tell Mitzeee they don't want to rent the flat out anymore as income and want to move back there instead. Jack goes back to owning the pub, Nancy and Darren go back to having their own space and start their own family and Jack, Frankie, Ruby and Esther live above the pub and Darren helps run the pub with Jack and Frankie. Riley selling up doesn't sound like a terrible thing when you consider Jack and Frankie can buy it off him. Or have I got that wrong? |

possibly, or the more likely reaction is to freeze whilst processing everything that's happening in front of you. Not many people in reality when faced with a difficult situation actually have such fast thinking reactions no matter how obvious it may seem to an onlooker, especially if your friend has seemingly betrayed you. It's all too easy to sit there and think what someone should do
besides, it's a tv show, and a soap at that I still think the actor who plays George is good |

I don't remember George saying he has no job. He just says he can get a job. Perhaps he was planning on working two jobs? If so that'll be a tight squeeze with his college but then he could drop out of that.
Since people in this thread like to pick at details, here's one: George has had so much time off college, including a few full weeks. Unless the tutors at his college are giant walkovers (like the ones in my college), he should be close to getting kicked out by now. Unless, of course, they know his reasons or he has given them a suitable reason. |

Tonight was the first time in a few weeks that i've watched Hollyoaks. My god, what a load of old tosh it's become. The new cast are pretty awful.

Also completely unbelieveable George wouldn't have continued looking for Phoebe after they escaped Deena and co. |

Anyone who behaved like that after what he and she had been through together would basically be a selfish git. |
