Unfortunately i had to go into town today, and being half term ,it was full of todays fashion conscious teenagers. I have to say, what a mess most of the girls looked. They looked like an army of Little Mix clones.
If this is what you call style, you can leave me out.

And the guys dont look much better.

Of course, teenagers took much more decent care of their appearance back in my teenage day (in the 1980s......).

My parents' house was at the top of the same lane where the High School was.

20 odd years after we went there, my stepmum was moaning about the girls tying their shirts up like bikinis, with loads of "Teenagers of today!" etc etc comments.... Yet we'd done the same thing in the 70s.

What goes around comes around. I say to my kids, if I approve of you - you must be uncool.

Today is the new 80's, an era we will look back on in horror.

How old are you?
My daughter had a party recently and all the boys looked like One Direction. Teenagers have always been fashion conscious and dressed like pop stars. Are you saying you are actually shocked by this?

Fashion is a load of bollocks. I never wore what was in style choosing instead what was comfortable and affordable.

Urm, yes because that's what teenagers do. It's what they always have done and always will do.

I keep seeing girls with beehive haircuts and half-mohawks.. shaved on one side but long on the other.

Not that it bothers me - I had bright green hair 14 years ago and must've looked equally as silly to 35 year olds at the time

As, I presume, an adult, that's kind of the point, surely?

A good few years ago (early 20s), I returned from a few days away seeing a friend with jet-black hair laced with electric pink streaks throughout. Whiskey was involved in this creation. Needless to say my Manager was unimpressed.

Myself I was quite taken with the results actually; far more sartorial than those current 'Bieber barnets' seemingly compulsorily adorning our young men.

The Frankie Cocoza (sp?) look is hilarious. It looks like a birds nest resting on a birds nest.

Coming from the Age of Punk, they all look remarkably tame and suburban to me...

They look a dam sight better than I did with my shell suit and wet look perm!

I think young people look rather good these days. In fact I'm a bit jealous. I suspect the OP is too!

As a teenager, I loathe what Little Mix types wear, I want to tell them to wash the slap off their faces and go put on some half decent clothes

Exactly
