Bjork's at a respectable 29th.

In terms of creativity she should be top 10.

I was so surprised that Bjork got some recognition. A very pleasant surprise

Why are Christina, Adele, Gaga etc. in the Top 10?

Again, I realise it's for the last 20 years, but it's a little hard to judge isn't it?
Gaga and Adele because they haven't been around long/left enough of an impact.
Christina because she's only released four album (which isn't an issue) and none of them are that important/influential.

Nice to see Regina Spektor recognised , but could have done with her being a bit higher. Ke$ha though *gags*

Wait a minute, who are you to decide who is absolute no-talent? Demi Lovato have the voice and 3 great albums, try searching for other names, like Avril Lavigne

Agree with some of the list but not all of it.

Did the general public vote this list or was it compiled on sales etc

Judging by some comments you've posted about her, you're not particularly keen on her, I understand that. But be objective with her. 'Stripped' is influencial and iconic, she has 2 albums that sold more than 15 million and she's won 5 Grammy's. I'm sure "important" and "influencial" apply to her career.

Oh, I love that album. Extra Smooth, I Refuse, More Than a Woman, Rock the Boat - there are so many great ones.

I am being objective. Stripped is half ''OMGZ, LOOK AT ME I'M SO EDGY! I'M WEARING CHAPS!'' and the other half is ''GAWSH, I'M SO TORTURED AND MY SOUL IS BEING TORN APART - I CAN BE YOUR INSPIRATION! FOLLOW ME, LOST CAUSES!''

Now, there are plenty of albums that cover those themes, but Stripped in particular suffered because of it, in my opinion. I don't think it's a bad album as such, but a lot of it sounds very contrived.

I don't see how it was very influential. She was not the first one to do that kind of bump'n'grind R'n'B at the time, she was not the first one to have inspirational piano/power ballads, and she was not the first one to act/dress like that.

I would agree though, that parts of it have become ''Iconic'' - the three main parts being her pierced/black hair/chaps look, the Dirrty video and Beautiful. I never said it wasn't memorable - so are Buck's Fizz, but I doubt anyone would call them ''important'' or ''influential''.

I think she's become a parody of herself over the last few years. I appreciate that she's got a great voice, even if her technique is awful, but she just hasn't made enough of an impact for me to make Top 10 in a list like this. Neither have Adele and Lady Gaga, hence the reason I think this list is bullshit.
